Like I've said before, I don't mind promos.. and I don't mind putting down a little money here and there in hopes Three Rings makes more levels/danger missions/ maybe a new boss someday? ... But yeah the items with this promo are just.. ugly. I got a Hunter Cloak for a friend since she is on vacation atm and usually likes to get one item from each promo but personally these items this time around are just ugly. What ever happened to good promos like Shadow Wings, Valk Wings, and Stranger hats?

Honestly, what OOO should do is that you have an additional chance of getting a UV ticket along with one accessory guaranteed. Such as a 45% chance of getting a UV ticket. THEN use the percentages to which UV ticket you'll get, such as a 50% chance for a 1UV ticket, a 35% chance for a 2UV ticket, and a 15% chance for a 3UV ticket.
However, the only reason they're doing the UV ticket thing is so people shell out more money to get the rare stuff.

Personally, I dislike the promo's (all of them) which included Uv Tickets. I liked back when you open up any box you were guarantee at least 1 item ( I don't mind if the accessory I opened up were the ugliest wings or the crapiest ones to profit off etc. end of the day it allowed me to gift out items like crazy and well you don't feel like crap after you open boxes).
One or two of my guild members I think posted this suggestion to remove the uv tickets from any of the promo style boxes. I do know that a few close friends and guild members I have stopped opening boxes after Three Rings started doing this. They just find it a bit depressing that a box can just be worth 25k Crowns max....I would have to agree with them. As a business idea these Uv tickets do make you buy more boxes to get the desired item, but I rather have more accessories even if some are given a higher % drop rate since anything is really better than uv tickets.
*Ah, you might wish to call me out since I received a bit of uv tickets from those bombs, but if you do wish to call me out before I received those tickets I spent over 100k Ce uv rolling (Usually since I got bored and had nothing better to do with my cash)*.
Would be nice to see this topic moved in suggestions as well.

even if it a reskin i want the fur hunter set :/ but since i know my luck, if i buy some energy from the promo i will get on my 3 boxes: 1 ticket variant 1 ticket variant 1 maid headband. My fear its that the next incoming promo will be like this kind of promo: Boxes for everything. i like when they guaranteed a costume with your purchase a random costume would be at least good, but no... not this way. oh well another promo i will miss anyway :c
and anyway i guess it just matter to wait the next promo and see if my fear become true... or not. this thing of the boxes its becoming a bit... excessive

For the first promo I bought, the Rose Regalia Redux(yes, I know I'm a relatively new player) I was doubting that I would get what I wanted, a Blue Chap. And as you could guess by the way I've worded things, I got it. The next promo I got was the Dragon Wing promo, and at that time I wasn't sure if I wanted Divine Dragon Wings to go with my Skolver coat or Volcanic Dragon Wings to go with my Vog Cub coat. Right before I bought it, I said in guild chat, "plz b shadow", and it was Shadow, which followed with a lot of humor and rage in guild chat. When one of the guild members logged on and heard all the commotion, she traded me a pair of Divine, Volcanic, Prismatic, Regal, and 2 Military Dragon Wings for the Shadow, which made me extremely happy because I got both Dragon Wings I wanted. I later went to preview the Prismatic on my proto gear, but accidentally attached them. Then later on I decided that I had money to spend so I put the Regal Dragon Wings along with a Regal Parrying Blade onto a Wolver Coat for my brother. I sold both Military Dragon Wings because they were particularly derpy. Long story short I was Pleased with buying promos and I'm sure I'm not the only one

Well the worst thing that would happen now its... they start doing every promo in this way: every costume will come in a box with a low chance to get...
thats what im very, very Very afraid... people will say the excuse of "will make the costume valuables" hell... sure but i paid money to get at least a costume like the older promos why this time no?... u_u well i guess we going to get familiar with this since its seems it going to be the next way to give a promo.

Honestly, I'd like to just be able to purchase accessories and costume armor pieces that I want with CE. It would eliminate a lot of the anxiety about AH competition, overpaying or trying to get good deals, etc. It wasn't bad at all when it was trying to get a complete sets of the regalia, but I wouldn't gamble on a prize box at this point. I would actually rather just pay cash for items instead of paying cash for CE and poor odds on getting something rare.
Gambling just doesn't work with my puritanical values, I guess. Lolz. I liked the promos that guaranteed getting something roughly equivalent with odds for a 'rare' color. Getting UV tickets is just another invitation to gamble for UVs that are mostly lame; I just sell them to other players. (Could anything be more irrelevant than damage versus type?) I hate confetti.
However, the reskin newbie armors are really interesting. Something I've wanted for some time.
I realize that there is an economic dynamic that is interesting with things as they are, but maybe I just want something when I want it at a reasonable price. Some market transparency would make the whole thing a lot more fun for me.

CE with box or CE with no box
I have said this in another thread, but I want to try it here.
There is a misconception that when you are buying CE during a promo, that what you are paying for is the costume/accessory instead of the CE. This is not true. When you buy CE, no matter what week it is, you are buying CE. Sometimes, when you buy CE, you get a little box that may or may not have a shiny thing in it for you. So yes, it makes sense to buy CE during one of these times when it comes with a box. No problem.
However, if you mistake the CE purchase for a BOX purchase, then it is understandable why you might be upset. The questions I would ask are:
1. If you don't actually need the CE, then why would you buy it?
2. Would you spend the same money on the promo if no CE came with it?
3. If you say yes to question 2, then why wouldn't OOO just sell prize boxes for that same price without the CE?
This has been my point all along. It seems that some of the customers may be confused about their purchase. Now, let's say the disgruntled customers accepted my logic (although my track record so far this weekend is pretty bad, but humor me please), then what if we look at it like this:
Only buy CE when you need it. Use the CE and cr that you have to purchase the costumes and accessories you want from the in game market (AH, Bazaar Forum, Shouting in trade chat). There you go! You do not have to worry about the promo anymore. Once you have accepted this lifestyle (lol) you may happen to need CE during a time when a promo is active. If that is the case, you ought to buy CE during it. Whattaya know? It came with a little box that may or may not have something shiny in it for you? That wasn't so bad was it? If not, then you might try to ration your CE so that you only need to purchase it at a time when there is a promo. Maybe you'll get that shiny. Maybe you'll get something pukey or ugly, but you will at least be able to trade or sell it for cr or more CE! That will bring you even closer to getting the thing you were hoping for in the first place!
It makes sense to me, what do you guys think?

I wasn't around during the valk wings promo, but I have yet to see any items in these recent promos sell for 3M+ like Shadow Dragon Wings did. I believe people would be more happy about promos if Three Rings went back to the old way of running promos and actually taking time to make us new items instead of giving us this "box" with a 65% chance of a UV ticket of a 34% chance of reskinned junk and a 1% chance for something new.
Rose Sets, Dragon Wings, Valk Wings.. these all had completely new things in it people wanted. These most recent promos have either been recolored items or.. do I even mention the cat tails and bunny ears promo?
It is also much more fun for people when the chance of getting a new item is 100%. I believe the odds for the Dragon Wings were 11% for the basic items, 6% for volcanic/divine/prismatic, and 3% for shadow dragon wings? At least you always got something.. instead of 65% for a UV ticket and 34% for something that has been recolored and 1% for something new... but it really isn't a 1% chance because you have 30ish other items hogging the range drops.

So comparing both promo's OP's, Others, and myself are just suggesting that Promo's which gave us an item every 9.95 purchase is better than promo's that give us any style of Uv ticket since in reality that 9.95 or more purchase is not worth it. Most players buy into a promo wishing to get a shiny new item.I personally buy Ce only promo times now-a-days since well I do want some of the promo items. We do think it was better when Three Rings was doing more promos like the Wings, Cat Tails, etc. Since even with a 9.95 purchase your receiving some item what is worth using instead of a 20k Crown uv ticket which well you could of got without the promo 3 Vanna runs = 21k Crowns.
Anyways just my two cents. I do get what you are saying, but was showing these examples to show you the difference in promo's

I see the difference. I guess my point is just that if it isn't worth it, just don't buy it lol. I made the analogy of a McDonalds menu addition that is some kind of ridiculous filet mignon that costs 1000 U.S. dollars. Would people freak out and write letters to McDonalds and boycott their chicken mcnuggets because of it? (instead of boycotting the chicken mcnuggets because they are made out of baby chipmunk skulls or whatever).
I do agree though that those odds are not as good. Maybe OOO is trying something new here, but again, if people don't buy it, then OOO will try something else. The numbers won't lie.

I'm starting my own way of getting promos
Stock up on CE after each promo, and at the beginning of the next one, just use the CE you have to buy the items off other people. This is the most secure way of defiantly getting a costume or accessory I've found so far. Example, I have 4 cat tails on my armors, one Volcanic, one Divine, one Cool, and one Military, yet I didn't purchase the Cat Tail promo.

Yup, I do agree with your point don't like the promo its not worth buying. I just have to agree with the original poster that if they changed back to older promo styles in the sense every box or 9.95 purchase gives you any item in the promo more players might be buying in since now people tend to sell boxes more-so since its not worth opening.
Also Yay for someone who understands common business logic. You are right for sure with the last statement. The #'s don't lie at all and that might be the reason they started with uv tickets.

just looking at this PIC specially in the one which say "original four" would be so nice to have as Promo items... but i guess would be some kinda copyright troubles i guess... oh well i wouldnt mind to pay a few times to get somewhat a "kinda link" related costume (well as soon they dont come in a box like this promo) but they also can add accesories for them like a "snipe aura" to go alon with the link costume (or either a silkwing glowing aura). Hell i wouldnt mind to pay a DLC as long they give me there the costumes (even if that DLC worth 49.95). and some related weapons to them (not powerful but at least just for the fun to have them and go around there with them).
But iguess the next promos will be just reskins u_u. well i can have a bit of hope and wait to be proven wrong with decent promos like they give us way back.

I know I am getting energy. It is just..... OOO doesn't have to include a freaking middle-finger-in-a-box with my purchase! Just give me the energy and keep the rude box, I will pay you as if I am paying for regular energy!
It is that I am paying OOO as if it isn't a promo, which means I will likely not pay them much on a box promo day if at all. If I am guaranteed to get a dragon wings, for example, I will be very willing to drop in some $$ for them and make a snazy (military / heavy / divine / whatever wings I get) costume.
So that means, we might be giving OOO less money where promo day is a day where they are supposed to get tons of money to cover for developments and such. On the other hand, people with gambling addiction be paying 1,000 bucks. It is hard to tell if OOO is making a profit or not, but what I can say: Energy is said to have only dropped 200 rather than the usual 700-1,000 ish.

How about this? Hunter Box Promo.. 1% chance for the aura. The other 99% chance is filled with the costumes. No recolored parrying blades, side blades, etc etc etc etc just the costumes. What would people think then? I know the costume colors are still rather ugly.. but would people be less angry if it was you ALWAYS got a costume item instead of 65% junk, 34% recolored stuff/costume items, and 1% aura?
