Since this was a bug I/we discovered during trading I think it is appropriate to make a post here for you guys to know as well. A scary bug.

So I was trading with Echoez, 7k CE for gunner sash max elemental. We did it via steam trade, everything was fine until I discovered in-game what the mail showed wasn't the thing I saw when trading. Something went straight up to my mind: Scam? (he's/she's a great seller!) I told him/her there was something wrong and checked his/her steam inventory, the gunner sash was gone. I checked mine as well, suprisely I saw it 'Max elemental gunner sash' sitting there but in-game is showed some rather random sash with 2 low UVs, I was afraid to accept the mail therefore recorded a video as reference. Took screenies as well. I showed my friends someone said it looks fake? Well I'm not that childish and skillful to fake such a thing.

I had to say when accepting the mail I forgot to hit 'F9' recording hotkey but as you can see in the video that 2UV gunner sash magically turned into the max elemental sash I wanted. I was like "geez pew, that was weird". Anyways due to this scary trade I'm not gonna use steam trade anymore.

Tell me if it's not the place to post, I might close the thread if so.

Hi!

I suggest you submit a ticket about it. Steam usually has a record of the transactions in steam trade.

Hmm weird never had that happen before, you did get what you want though, could it be an older mail and you did accept&delete on the actual sash?

Steam Trades

Steam trades can be wacky. I and a friend had to call in Helios once on account of somehow turning 7kce into 250kce ._.
Wacky things happen there, man.
