I have this great idea for PvP that everybody will love! (hopefully) Okay here it is, in the town square there should be an arena where knights will go to PvP. For each PvP match players are able to bet crowns and energy (either mist or crystal). Players have to bet 2000 or more crowns (in the arena there will be two types of sections, one where you just bet crowns and one where you just bet energy), and for energy players have to bet 30 energy points or more, the max is 60 energy points. The winner receives the crowns or energy of course
The modes will be free for all, one on one, and 4 on 4
(can be guild against guild) *Note: each player in a 4 on 4 haves to bet 30 energy points or 2000 crowns (each individual can bet more if they want the others won't have to bet more if one does) so each player who wins gets an equal amount, also if you die you stay dead and you won't get the full 30 energy points or 2000 crowns (if 30 is betted) , you will just get 10 energy points or 500 crowns (whichever type of match it is). If only one person on your opponents team bets high and you win it will be devided equally amongst your party, except for the dead guy just gets the 10 energy points or 500 crowns*. But thats not all thats going to happen in the arena. There will be horse races, jousting, and a challenge where you fight waves of enemies (you'll be able to choose the enemies you want to face). And if you deafeat 100 waves of enemies you receive 1000 crystal energy, so don't think it will be easy. And the arena will look like one of those roman arenas and the horse races will take place in the circular section and you can choose what you want the track to look like, grassy snowy, whatever. The other matches will be located upstairs and down stairs, so it will be one circular arena atop a next, and of course you can choose the scene. So tell me what think. And maybe the Spiral Knights Team will make this idea come true!
And just one more thing the arena will have shops where you can buy equipment, they will be located in rooms that go around the arena. And it will have a room with the data on all the monsters you have seen, instead of having to open up a browser all the time. Thats all! If I were a gambling man...
...I'd suggest the legal red-tape in allowing players (many of whom are under 18) to bet materials purchased with or exchanged for real money will leave this idea dead in the water.

You should forced to PVP at any given time. Those who fall by the hands of other players will have their characters and account permanently deleted.
Farming for some heat in a Jelly run? Tough! You soon find yourself in the arena in the blink of an eye! No matter how close you were to the Royal Jelly.
Hanging out in the lobby with some guildmates? Not on my watch! Get zapped right into the middle of an ongoing battle, with our without your main weapons equipped.

Whatever gets all of these terrible players in Vog Cub, running into spikes and dying repeatedly to nonsense, out of my groups. At this point I sigh whenever I see Vog Cub.

You didn't even PvP in the preview, because you didn't play. Beta players know how it worked, and Three Rings probably isn't even going to change much. By the way, don't suggest something that was already suggested, and tested.

CE is not real money. In puzzle pirates with a similar two-currency system, players can wager the equivalent of crowns, which in turn can be used to buy CE. (And so it's really not necessary to allow CE wagering anyway, the energy depot makes them interchangeable anyhow.) In any case, if players on puzzle pirates can wager on duels (and even cards for that matter) then spiral knights can wager on duels too.
Since you can't 'cash out' your winnings into real money, only in-game currency, it's not 'real' gambling, only gambling of game tokens that are only good in the game.

What's so bad about Vog
I've been looking at Vog Cub gear for good elemental/normal defense, with maybe a skelly or owlite shield to round things out depending on the strata. I'd love to hear if you have better gear suggestions.
