Im gonna try to be nice about this one
The idea seems nice and all, but honestly it's terrible. Sure I'd like my name shortened to Zoren so it'd be easier for others to type it, but just think of the chaos that'd ensue if someone say well known, such as Cootie, Vok, or Nj happened to change their name as a joke for like 2 seconds, then go to change it back and discover it's already taken.
Also, I agree with everyone saying to put this in the suggestions page.
