If a specific gate name loops back around, will it save our gate progress on it? Or is it treated as a brand new gate, despite having the same name?

As soon as a gate close, all the levels on it are scrapped.. and we ned to refill it with new minerals to make new levels..
It is treated as a brand new gate.
