So, im thinking of whether or not to buy the trinket that gives you a health bonus, and i was just wondering if health is maxed out at 20 "bars", if it is then the trinket wont be worth it in the long run.

Derpules is right, that health doesn't max at 20. For example, in Shadow Lairs you often have +25 vitapods.
I agree with Juances: If you're going to go for trinkets, then offensive trinkets (e.g. damage bonus) are more valuable in PvE.

But bear in mind that you'll need to keep buying trinket slots to benefit from trinkets.
