SK runs on Java. Java has a big problem
And yes this includes PCs
Shiz no one cares if they're on a PC
Not everyone uses Apple Macs.
Also, were you referring to Mac users by using words "we" and "all"? I'm pretty sure the majority of Spiral Knights players use PCs.
If you read the whole article it says that it's already effecting windows.
oh grand. Time to put noscript back in then.
Oh crap.
I'm on a mac, haha dw my SK is working fine >:D
That article can only be fake, macs don't get viruses. :DD
Oh a new vulnerability.
Tell me when I lose anything important from my computer.
That article can only be fake, macs don't get viruses. :DD
Disagree. They can get viruses just like any other OS driven device. The fact that this whole "Macs don't get viruses" theory is bad itself. It means that all the people who develop viruses to completely mutilate your PC/Mac will start to focus on the Mac, putting viruses on it etc, regarding that statement.
Ever thought about that, eh?
Macs supposedly don't get viruses because of all the restrictions in OSX systems. If you know how to deal with viruses, you'll be better off on a Windows OS because it's less restricted
And I thought this was gonna be a pun on Spiral Knights. You disappoint me Trying.
One might say he's
*puts on sunglasses*
Trying to disappoint you
YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!
lol.
It doesn't affect me, not my problem, I don't care.
Signed: SK forum goers and SK players.
The article kinda obscures the fact that the Java 7 problem exists on any computer with Java 7 installed. It does not matter what operating system you use. The exploit allows Java to escalate permission, at which point a malicious Java program could do naughty things.
On the other hand, the major probable vector for this exploit is via the web browser plug-in. Disabling the plug-in means that you would have to actually download and execute something else first to encounter a problem. If you rely on the SK home page to launch the game just grab the stand alone installer and you can turn off the browser plug-in and launch the game for your desktop instead.
Also, as mentioned, Java 6 doesn't have this problem. Swap to that and don't worry about this news again.
"The virus enters a computer when the user visits a website."
As far as I know, unless you don't have common sense 2012 installed on your head and you open random links everywhere, you're not going to get any viruses or anything like that, much least by just opening spiral knights. Jesus...
Lol, mac catches this instead of windows? What a reverse stereotype. Reminds me of that one tosh.0 bit.
OH MAN PEOPLE, TIME TO PANIC. YOUR MAC ISN'T SAFE...wait, I'm on a PC.
Back to work PC people.
P.S. your title needs work.
