So i've been crafting some items lately that cost 200 energy, and ive been thinking wouldnt that amount be enough the buy the item im crafting? So anyways is crafting worth it in high tiers? Im only looking for opinions here folks. Not Facts.
Crafting Worth it? and blahblah blah.
It is worth it, because you have a chance to get a variant of the weapon that you are making, and CE doesn't cost too much. Also I do it a lot and so far, i have two five star weapons and a lot of four star ones.
Do you want a 5-star item, and not care which UVs it has? Then buy a 3-star item and upgrade it from there yourself.
Do you want good UVs? Then mass-craft as low-star an item as possible (2- or 3-star) and upgrade it from there yourself.
little-juances, if the recipe is normally found in the hall of heroes, id buy it from there. since it cost less than the auction house. But the downfall of needing to do plenty of missions to get to the next one is a bit time wasting.
Also, thanks for reminding me about mist energy, it will help me.
3* items cost 200 energy to craft.
3* items generally cost about 15k+ in the market place.
Assuming you use a full mist tank in order to craft, you use 100 CE to craft a 3* item. At current costs, this is about 8.5k cr.
A recipe costs 4k cr from HoH.
Crafting itself costs 1k cr, plus some assorted materials (let's assume you didn't spend money on these).
This comes to a total of 13.5k cr.
In addition, you get a chance at a (potentially) good UV.
Think about it.
Cost to craft a Dusker Cap:
100 mist = ~10kcr (if spent running first two levels of RJP until gone)
100 CE = ~8.5kcr
Recipe = 4kcr
Craft cost = 1kcr
Materials = ~500cr
Total = 24kcr
Cost to buy a Dusker Cap:
On AH at auction, with patience/luck = <13kcr
On AH at BIN = <18kcr
There you go.
Of course, you could get the rec, then use that to craft extra Duskers to sell on days you won't be playing. Also possible.
Also, depending on how much time you are willing to spend on the game, using mist to craft may not be a good idea. If you use your mist efficiently, you make more crowns spending CE rather than mist. But Bopp is right that buying a 3* item in the auction house is your best bet, unless it's an item from boss tokens.
Not many people sell too many 5* stuff, and the ones on the auction house are very high price and they usually have UVs, making them even more expensive. Crafting can get you an UV, which is always welcome, even if it's just a plain damage bonus. It also costs less, and when you collect your materials, you usually get the crowns you need.
From most expensive to cheapest:
-People selling have to pay unbind fees (above 3*/for boss weapons) AND craft it AND make a profit.
-Supply Depot is extortionate, but has a lower CE cost than unbinding.
-Crafting is cheaper than the Supply Depot if you do the maths.
Crafting is much cheaper than buying the actual item instantly from the depot.
So 500 energy for a 3* ain't worth it. It's worth like for 4* gear while it's only 3*. Here are some crafting costs.
1* item - 50 crowns + 10 energy
2* item - 200 crowns + 50 energy
3* item - 400 crowns + 200 energy
4* item - 1000 - 2500 crowns + 400 energy
5* item - 2500 - 5000 crowns + 800 energy

I dont need the same thing posted three times. I dont care if you said its a glitch because i know its not.
Purchasing is generally better for 2*s, can sometimes work on 3*s, but for 4* and 5* it's just unviable thanks to unbinding costs-you'd be lucky to find a seller, let alone a decent price!
Do the math, lol. Also take into acount you can use mist to craft, wich is essentially free.
Anyways, in order to buy it, someone had to craft it, right? There's your proof.
