So, I am finding increasingly difficult to sit down and spend anymore time playing this game. I've done tier three stuff and what not, but that's the extent of the game. There is little or no incentive to playing after you get 5* gear and clear the lower depths. Could we perhaps install some sort of.. Daily/weekly objectives. Perhaps a guy that gives a quest to clear one of the tiers with no more than a certain amount of people or do it solo. Not sure if this makes sense to anyone but myself, but the game is dull to me now.

I know what some of you would say, go level another character, but why? To spend a week playing and run into the same problem? I like this game, don't get me wrong. I just can't seem to find any desire to log on at this point knowing that nothing new or exciting is waiting for me.

Other people would look at this post and say "wtf do you want from the devs? This is after all a free to play game" I would totally agree, this is only a free to play game, but they're pulling in enough money to make the game more interesting. Sitting in Haven with no quests to do or something to occupy my time is super lame.

Something like achievements

Something like achievements or trophies? I'd like those.

Alternately, create some special modes, like perhaps an arena that keeps spawning more foes infinitely that do not drop health or materials / crowns, until you inevitably die. A leaderboard keeps track of who has the highest score. Each week the existing arena is scrapped and replaced with a new one with a different layout and theme, and a different assortment of monsters.

This would also serve as a good distraction for new players who want to keep playing but are out of energy for the day.

Something else to do

Following your train of thought, I think there should be something else for players to do other than use energy and trade items. Something players can do after they've spent all their mist energy for the day and don't want to use their CE to continue exploring CW. Something that is fun but fairly pointless. Something that won't give players a massive edge in the game. I'm not sure what that would be though. We basically just need more stuff to do than just explore clockworks and spam the trade channel to sell stuff. Ideas?

Random ideas:
- Quests
- Regularly recurring lottery (maybe based on mineral deposits somehow)
- Daily quiz hosted by some NPC
- Giving Tree (like neopets xD)
- Sword/Bomb/Gun skill challenges with leader boards (like what niko said but you're limited to just one of one type of weapon)
- Something semi-useless semi-useful to collect (like chairs in maplestory for those who know)
- Monsters invade town randomly
- More towns or more areas in the current town
- Secret elevators in clockworks (ya this costs energy but I'm running out of ideas off the top of my head)
- Pets!!
- A large gathering place (pub?) for people to hang out in game and make new friends and chat. Also might have an in game message board for people to post selling/buying offers and guild recruitment stuff.
- More NPCs which develop SK's story
- Random bands of traveling merchants who pass through town selling never-before-seen/rare stuff for high prices
- A Spiral Knights bank
- Connecting back up to the gathering place idea have a gambling parlor in/near there where you can wager crowns

Great idea

I love the idea of the town being randomly attacked by mobs. That would be awesome :)

We need more stuff to do

We need more stuff to do OOO!

I mean your basic premise of mist = money is great, and works to an extent as a playtime limiter and money maker for you.

But even that hasn't stopped some players from already seeing all there is to do in your game so far!

"But what about the randomized levels?" you say.

"Surely they haven't beaten ALL of them yet?"

Of course not, but when 90% of them may as well be the same thing, there's little incentive to do so.

Going along with the pub

Going along with the pub idea, we could have bar fights!
This wouldn't be true pvp just little fist fights that combatants and non-combatants could bet on or use to settle disputes.

@ Hazel - I agree! I also like to add to that!

I posted a topic suggestion to solve this problem! =) http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/6494

This suggestion will give more replay value to the game, and encourage SK members to craft out different gear and weapons, then try them out!

@soupgrande
Well, if you don't want to make a new character. Have you tried just crafting different weapons and seeing what they all do? That is always fun to try. If you don't want to spend serious money. You can buy some 0* weapons from the Bzzar vendors and see if you can own some noobs in tier 3 with that nooby weapon. Show others that you don't need that stinkin Avenger/Faust! Because you can kill people with a shovel (Slime slasher...i think)! That is a real pro there! That is always fun!

What he said.

I agree entirely. Some mini-game type activities wouldn't hurt to add in the least. specifically, the Town Square area is pretty empty, so I'm sure there's plenty of room there. Off the top of my head;

-A firing range where you can swing/shoot weapons wildly in-town, maybe with target dummies. Equipping an item here doesn't bind it to you, and it gets unequipped when you leave. Lets people try before they buy.

-A simple PVP arena, where people can fight one-on-one or in teams, with spectators welcome. Maybe have certain armor types change your classification for damage bonuses (e.g. Wolver coats give you a partial Beast subtype).

-"Digging" challenge levels/minigame with block breaking shenanigans.
