I have two knights on this account that are still sharing Mist Energy despite having purchased Crystal Energy on one. My understanding is that paid accounts are supposed to have separate Mist Tanks for each character.

That's really stupid, the system shouldn't be designed to incentive 'cheating' it. There is absolutely no reason to being able to have multiple knights on a single account given that setup - the only thing having multiple knights can do then is hurt you by splitting up your equipment and recipes. I set up a seperate knight so I could play by myself (and with my friends) and play seperately with my daughter when she wanted to play. Now I really regret having wasted the Crystal Energy getting my second character up to her gear level quickly instead of just cheating the system and making a new account. I really wish they had made the fact that all knights on an account shared Mist Energy even while paid more clear or better yet not allow you to sabotage yourself by creating multiple knights.
Any chance that they can split a knight off to a seperate account so I can play with my daughter without having to pay a dollar a day to play through a Tier 1 run with my girl?

I read the question wrong. Derp.
If you make another account to play with her she won't be able to play with her own mist energy, since only your account is considered a paid account. Paid accounts Mist Energy isn't effected by other accounts using the same computer/internet, however other accounts will be. So if you have two accounts (one paid, one free), both of them will have separate Mist Energy, any more and only the free accounts will share Mist Energy.
You won't be able to send that Knight to another account as far as I know, either.
No. Knights on the same account always share the same Energy reserves. Purchasing just separates different accounts.
