I got the hang of the gate trick in Blackstone Bridge but, how do you go about shooting the wheels at just the right angle in Smoldering Steps? (the one with the water ball behind it).

U can do it with a butt-load of weapons! well maybe 5ish.
1. peacemaker
2. polaris
3. plague needle (me!)
4. blitz
5. technically brandishes (work as a gun)
you go to go next to a wheel. you shoot straight. (AA is useless here) You shoot with charges (plague) and a few of the bullets hit the side of it, after 3 hits, it blows up. of course its much easier with a trollaris.

Thanks Thunderbog but i'm not new. I've been playing for about a year....but I did ask a question so I guess I do need to move this to NR.
So knights stand a bit below? Do you mean bullets can in fact go through stairs?

Well... except for lag. But yeah, just shoot and judge the distance just right so that the shots expand behind the shield, exploding on the wheel.
And yes, depth doesn't really seem to have much effect in SK. I have been set on fire by invisible Slag breath before, which was hidden underneath stairs. So your bullets can travel through the ground. xP
Using a needle-type gun for this is not exactly efficient, by the way. The wheels count as 'Construct' for damage purposes.

Using a needle type gun may not be effective, but the pepperbox line works fairly well.
New Recruits... but I'll have yer problem answered, so I suggest ye should read it first then.. uh, ye know.
The only guns that could pass through the wheels were Argent Peacemaker, Polaris, and Valiance(maybe). Some say that they destroyed the wheels and made way with Blitz Needle.
Shoot from their left or right. Stand lower a little from the stairs and shoot.
