Is it just me or is the Khorovod like 60-65% as strong as it used to be? I seem to be doing less damage now to the point that there's really no reason to use a Khorovod. Which is unfortunate for me because it's my only 4* sword.
Is it just me (khorovod)
Star value fixes. -Andrzej
It's probably a result of the changed values. I'm guessing all four star gear got degraded a little.
Well, it don't matter if they nerfed everything again. What we have simply don't match anything that's deeper than 24.
I get red~purple on a full 4 star set and it's just down hill from there either way.
I'm of the same agreement, although I think Khorovod is still one of the best weapons we have available, even if it has been nerfed. So don't go deleting it kojiden, because there aren't any better alternatives out there.
They seemed to have nerfed the Cold Iron Carver too.. took a whole block from it's max damage? (from comparing the wiki power bar to the one in-game now) Weapons were already a bit tight for above emberlight, why make them even weaker doh.
They changed the bars again!? *grumbles of to wiki to fix values again*
Was the Khorovod really that overpowered? (note: the only other Sword I used was the Spur pre-major update) It takes 3 hist for most enemies for the first set of clockworks after Emberlight, much more for the major gremlins. It's major trade off was that there is a major time delay after the 2nd hit that would leave you vulnerable. The knock back on the second swing doesn't interrupt an attack and still leaves most enemies in hit range while the animation finishes. Also, the Skellie's slashing attack can hit faster than the Khorovod can restart it's swing after the minor stun-on hit.
don't update them yet :p that way we can compare and see what got changed again
I've got most of the images saved to my computer anyway :)
At floor 19 The Khorovod does well under 100 damage a strike to the big goblins, when they can heal 450 in a single go this can be a problem. Ash Wolvers and Rock Jellies take 4 hits, not much of a problem there. Ironwoods became much more of a pain. This is a pretty big nerf, especially when many enemies can attack inside the combo. This really doesn't help since I can't do a combo with the Khorovod immediately after taking a hit (just 1 swing and pause). It is very difficult to use a Khorovod in the first section after Emberlight when this is supposed to be 4-star territory.
Mm you could try doing the first swing in front of them, that way you only hit them with the second hit. So you don't get within range of enemy hits until you can deal your second disrupting/knocking back blow? It's not an ideal tactic though but it helps when you're taking too much damage.
For my cold iron carver, mine was only lvl 5 so far so I hope I won't feel that need when I get home :p
So it really did get the nerf hammer? And just when I was about to go get one... is there any viable 4* at the moment? I'm guessing the Khorovod is still better than the Faust, for now, but maybe I should be looking for something else?
The issue is that unless the Khorovod gets both hits in the enemy attack continues anyway. Big Gremlins, Bull Chromalisks and Redwards can still hit you with their attack when they are only hit by the second swing knock back. Gremlins actually miss first when they do the 2-hit combo, but as you see the second attack coming your character won't be ready to shield yet.
Hmm even with the nerf I'm doing very well with my 4* lvl 6 Cold Iron Carver at the first depths after emberlight. Only gremlins were an issue so far.
We're in the process of making changes to items as part of our continued balance work. Some of those changes made their way out last night, the rest are forthcoming. We'll let you know when we're ready to announce some new stuff. Until then, thanks for your patience and continued play as we develop the game!
It seems that "Khorovod is overpowered" is a common outcry when in fact the real problem is a lack of equivalent alternatives. Given that we don't even HAVE five star swords available yet, it seems reasonable to me that the Khorovod be among the most powerful of the four star options. If it's been nerfed, I can only surmise that the decision to do so wasn't very well thought through. Other four star weapons should be improved to make them viable. It's not as if the Ember-to-Core clockworks wasn't difficult enough already - Khorovod or no.
