Crazy thought that came into mind. Spiral Knights films made with Source Filmmaker anyone? I'm not experienced with the software but, it seems like an awesome idea for an official contest or just something can do on their free time.

Edit: A suggestion to the suggestion would be Three Rings could make Spiral Knights model software for the Source Engine. (Doesn't mean they ever will... But I can dream)
We have spy. And I get the feeling that OOO kinda dislikes that, so I wouldn't expect them to release an official one.
Well, in order to use SFM to make any kind of animated short or movie, you're going to need to make models for every single peace of gear in order to be used effectively. You'd have to make the models, make rigs, re-do textures, import files exd.. All in all its a long and painfull process, and far as I know OOO don't like people doing that. There have been serveral threads about people wanting to make SK models in stuff like Blender or 3dsMax (for non-proffit purpouses of course) but , apparently, that's in violation of the EULA. So, unless OOO change their EULA and let people re-create their content in 3D form, things like SFM shorts or custom animations ain't going to happen.
(No offence to OOO, but talk about paranoia from theft, I mean, come on! Who's gona steal it? People just want to make Fan art and/or movies.)

can some one do better? And how come he's the only spiral knights animator does he work for three rings?

Spiral knights doesn't run on the source engine. You might as well try to make a SK video with MS paint.
