I am trying to go for my 3 star gear so I can get through the current hall of heroes mission, and it's 200 energy per piece!! Its insane to think of the sheer amount of grinding it is taking to get the 92k (18k energy, 4k recipe, 1k materials, x4 pieces) crowns needed for the 4 piece set. Considering the highest run available to me nets about 2.5k, at 3 runs per day it is going to take me a full 2 weeks just for the 3 star gear. And if I get tired of grinding the exact same run over and over and decide to do something more fun, it will take even longer. I dont even want to know how long the higher levels will take to get!
Why does crafting cost such obcene amounts of energy?
Yes I am new here. I've been playing about 2 weeks. What's your point?
It might be a bit quicker for you to straight-up buy the 3* armor off the Auction House, depending on what you're after. But as long as you're careful and dont' spend your crowns or energy foolishly it'll add up. :3
Crafting cost are higher than they use to be~
Also have fun trying to make a 5 star set with the prices of CE if you are just starting off and f2p.
As you have said the 3 star set will be 200 ce per piece. 4 star will be 400 ce per piece. and 5 star will be 800 ce per piece.
haha this is one of the best threads ive seen in a long time
If it was cheap people woudl go staright to 5* and complain about the game being easy/short.
Anyways, whats the matter, besides some bosses and special missions, pretty much every level available on T3 can be played on T2/T1.
The joy of the game is in the journey, not the destination. If you enjoy the game, you shouldn't mind grinding it. If you don't, then why play it at all?
@ Princeberton i agree on something when you say the joy of the game is in the journey not the destination! But if the journey must be the same and the same to go to the destination then *beeep* the destination lol!
I have the freedom now(because i have the 5 star gear i want)to do unprofitable runs so i am not getting bored.
A new player i think doesn't have this luxury...
You are right, and the game is too grindy to be enjoyable.
Well, that 100 mist every day gives you a reasonable amount of freedom. Personally, I was a new player before the mission update, so I had to run the clockworks constantly. This gave me enough variety to continue enjoying the game. My advice to new players would just be to run whatever they want to, regardless of profitability (on mist it doesn't matter too much). If they want to run with ce, then yeah RJP and RT is a good idea
@Princeberton You said the magic word before the mission system! Before you didnt have a choice not to explore the arcade(and it was cool)...When the mission system came we all went to vana as a result the ce price depends from now on from the vana run..Now if you want to progress and not die on your keyboard before you reach 5 star you must grind more than before(in vana or JK)They didnt take your right to do other runs but they drive you to do the same runs and grind more and more...
Dont judge with the same criteria when the data is different..
It would be great if there was more incentive to explore the clockworks...
I enjoy exploring the clockworks, but the missions are much more profitable.
I really do like this game, but anything will get boring when you have to grind the same stuff over and over with no visible progress.
Do you have multiple computers available to you?
You could have an alt with a separate mist accrual. That will help you do a few different things, like craft 2* stuff to sell, or use it to double your run's profits, etc.

And yes, this is allowed. You could use one computer provided you pay a little. (Possibly having a steam vs normal would also allow for two free accounts to be used on the same computer.
The Mission System is a double edged sword. It gave end game players things to do.. for 2-3 days. It gives new players some free gear at the start.. and then a world of pain since each mission eats into their mist/ce and gives pretty lousy rewards later on until you reach the KoA mission. Just some insight for those that might not have noticed it yet but.. even the arena missions got nerfed. Those arenas that gave 1-2k crowns dont give squat now. There is no way to a new player to do their missions and make enough crowns to buy another 100 ce and do more.
Is RJP even a realistic choice now after CE reaching 9k per 100? You have to do 5 runs (skipping the boss) to get ahead by 1k crowns and even if you were a pro or ran with a team of pros that is still nearly 1 hour of playing just for 1k crowns extra. I personally wouldn't waste my time. Personally, just play with your mist and find something else to do if you don't want to give Three Rings money. Because really.. its not going to get any better. The 4 and 5 star items will take more crowns, more CE, and more heat.
Disclaimer: I am in no way suggesting to buy a CE package or elevator pass. This is your choice and if you really want my input.. don't do it.
Honestly, I don't see how getting two star items is so hard. It takes me two days to get one two star item. I repeat The Sovereign Slime but I DO NOT run the boss because it will give me 2,000 crowns so. 20=2,000 crowns on the first two runs on The Sovereign Slime. 100=Full mist= Able to get 10,000 crowns in one day. I'm already working on four star items and it's not even that hard, it takes me like three-four days to get the energy I need for a four star item.
"Why does crafting cost such [obscene] amounts of energy?"
It doesn't.
http://weknowmemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/you-must-be-new-here-w... But really OOO just raised the price because they want people to buy more energy.
