Nick: Exchange prices are driven by the community, Three Rings does not directly alter it in any way. But we're always looking to introduce new reasons for players to sink crystal energy and crowns into the economy.

If Nick Popovich stated that he will do something for the economy standards, he would have do so long ago. So please understand.

Devs needs to care about CE prices

Because, if this keep going up, it will reach into a time they will lose people. Do we have to reach 30K until they do something about the prices?

Because if devs and people don't care about it, what stops us from increasing the price to 20K or more? Because "it's never too high", right?

I will admit that there is a right and a wrong way to make a thread complaining about the ingame economics, but this quote isn't 100% legit. It isn't untrue, but its misleading IMO. Just gotta say this one thing;

This is misleading. OOO might not 'directly' alter it, but they control it much more than they would lead you to belive. Really, all OOO needs to do is sell more things for crowns, and less things for CE. It's that easy. The fact that they don't even do that makes me think that they arent realy 'looking for new ways to make players sink crowns into the economy'.

Actually, if you do the math, prices aren't too high until they reach about 16k (the breaking even point for FSC). Now, I realize this only applies to high-level players, so let's consider RJP and RT. RJP gives 2500 cr per 20 energy (assuming the boss is not done, but even if it is, the value of the tokens outweighs the energy cost). This means that RJP is profitable until the price is 12.5k cr. Roarmulous twins gives 2000 cr in the first two levels, so it will be profitable until 10k cr.

In conclusion, though the prices seem rather high, it is still easy to make a decent profit, even for tier 2 players. When you take into account the 100 free mist given every day, these prices are not at all unreasonable.

RJP might still be 'profitble' when CE is just below 12.5, but then you'll only make a one crown profit. Not that you said otherwise, but its kinda misleading. A 'profitable' job for example, wouldn't pay you 1 cent per day. Now, you would be making a 1 cent profit, but it wouldn't really be worth working at that point. Just elaborating.

For me, it's not that the price is too high, the price can actualy go up a few thousand crowns without making the game unplayable. It's really just that nothing is being done. OOO dosen't seem to care, and if they do they don't care enough to do something in advance.

Guild hall updates will be a major crown sink. In my experience, OOO deals with problems well once they're good and ready, rather than rushing it to make a lousy fix

Ehh, but they don't really lead on to anything economic. For all I know guild hall upgrades could cost CE since they're "luxury items" like accesories, heat amps, and K boosters. That being said, I might've missed a dev saying that guild upgrades would be purchased with crowns.

It would really be worth it to just change something that's already in the game, like making heat amps or K boosters crowns, or reducing the PVP bribe price in small parties. Changing something you already have soon can sometimes be more effective then adding something new later. For example, say you're trying to get in shape. You can't just work out and eat protien more often, you also have change all those ice cream buffets into healthy meals. Its like making an essay longer as opposed to editing it, you might get closer to a good grade, but you're still averaging in that initial crappy part.

the guild hall update is 3 rings trying something new to fix the energy crisis.
from what I read there will be upkeep for the guild hall.
effectively a 'tax', so it's going to be a continuous crown sink.

Anyways, yes the CE prices will go down. (Hopefully) Either way, I see a bright attraction to OOO's future. Well I remember roughly 1 year ago in October 2011, accessories came out if I recall correctly. I still remember how psyched we all were. People were selling HEADBANDS and business over trade chat was WILD. And out popped Tersakoff with a huge fashion genius mind. Now, fast forward 1 year later, October 2012 (Totally just a rough guess of when Guild update will come out), think about how psyched people will be to be able to decorate their guild hall. I am seeing people preparing to rack up CR ready to unload it all onto accessorizing their guilds. Personally, I would love to visit other guild's halls and chill out like its home. However, I guess that means Town Square won't be a big hangout spot anymore and there will be less Haven instances. Not saying its a bad thing, just a future observation :P. Now, I wonder who will be the huge guild hall fashion genius mind now......

I have to grind fsc againthis time for crowns -.-
@zaderules were still not sure when it will come.
Also nick said guild hall will be replaced with "base version".....so maybe they just removed the alchemy machine rename it make it fancy and
maybe remove some parts of the guild make it fancy then make people "unlock" the parts of guilds.
