im wondering if anyone can help me with being a gunny things like tactics weapons and armor and where to get them please help thank you
how do i be a good gunner
Go for the alchemer line first, they all have their merits and you can pick and choose what element you want to inflict. Also go for the seerus mask if you have access to OCH, the mask is really good. But yeah go with what duke said get yourself the gunner armor. And practice!
Prudence is a virtue of every gunner (as Courage is a virtue of demo-knights and Temperance is a virtue of fencers). Be prudent. Judge between actions with regard to appropriate actions at a given time. Avoid unnecessary risk.
Be patient. When playing solo don't rush in. Kite a single mob out to already explored areas and shoot them all one by one.
Use environment to your advantage - shoot through low walls and through chasms. Try to lure mobs within blast block radius and then shoot at it.
In case of crossfire find cover - breakable blocks and big bushes are great covers if available. I'm even sometimes using golden keys as a movable cover against gun puppies, polyps and howlitzers.
Learn and practice all general field tactics (like controlling monsters waves in arenas)
Learn the arsenal - knowledge about damage types is a good start, but a knowledge about weapon types, theirs attack patterns, combo lenght, range and special features is crucial to master gunslinging. I'd say Crash course equipment tutorial by sir Luguiru is a good place to look for details.
Try reading the wiki article "Gunslinger Guide". It's not great, but it's a start.
Also search the forums for "Ask a Master Gunslinger Anything". There are several similar threads. The original one helped me a lot when I was starting, although some of the information is out of date now probably. For example, it gets you thinking about whether to fire full clips or stop one shot short. And, in the latter case, which guns are most affected by the tactic. Stuff like that.
It doesn't get any better than Merethif and Bopp's posts above me here. 1. Prudence and Patience are key. 2. Know your tools and your enemies. I can only add a tiny thing (that is technically already covered under both 1 & 2, but) don't forget about your shield! Shield bumping the mob that's in your face can push him back into a more comfortable range for you to unload your clip (-1 shot) on it. Just b/c you aren't a "melee" specialist, doesn't mean you can ignore your shield! Even in the case of Swiftstrike Buckler (should you go that route), it's always good to use EVERY tool at your disposal. Good luck out there!
Prioritize your targets.
When I mean prioritize, I mean to be aware of which enemy to take out first. Usually these enemies are those who pose the greatest threats, and those who support those threats (Mecha Knights, Lumbers, Gremlin Menders/Slikwings are some of the prime examples).
Know your enemies; know yourself; know your equipments.
As a gunslinger, you need to know your enemies' strengths and weaknesses, and what equipments to use, in order to inflict as much damage as possible, and to avoid receiving too much damage.
"Practice does not make perfect; only perfect practice makes perfect."
Practice your skills and master the advanced techniques made by expert players in SK. Here are two guides that can help you learn and become a decent gunslinger:
Gunslinger Guide, and Shieldbearer Guide (credits goes to those who made those guides in SK wiki).
Well, armor and where it is pretty obvious. It tends to be shadowsun or bust and the Hall of Heroes. All guns have their merits, besides Iron Slug. Best tip I can give is to practice. You'd best be a bit more specific so I know exactly what to tell you.
