Two simple suggestions regarding the room you now spawn into:

1: Let us return to it. Maybe have a button labeled "Return to Ready Room" next the one that says "Return to Haven".

2: Let us craft gear in there. We're supposed to get "ready" in there, right? Shouldn't that include crafting stuff? And don't even try to say you need a "specialized facility" or something like that, for heaven's sake there's one outside a store and another randomly placed on a ledge on the outskirts of Haven.

The mission lobby and the little room you log into are actually the same.

Instead of having you stand there and count your fingers while messing with menus they could just put you right into a solo lobby where the elevator takes you to Haven, but with no Basil in there. There is already a crafting machine in there.

Nope

Do you really need an alchemy machine in there? There are two in the Bazaar, one in the square, one in the arcade, one in every mission lobby, one in Embelight and Moorcroft, and a special one in the sanctuary. Brilliant. And with that idea gone, why would you need to go back?

You might go back to avoid local chat, meaning that you would notice all messages intended for you because they wouldn't get washed away while you AFK'd. Also because it takes up little internet, and slows your computer down less than the guildhall.

What you have failed to mention.

You could also enter a mission lobby and not invite anyone.

In principle it makes sense,

In principle it makes sense, but Yttri's right; expecting another Alch machine there is the height of laziness; you can craft virtually anywhere you go. The ready room is just supposed to be a wee sort of intro screen before you start playing for real.

...

I wouldn't say no to having the option of returning to the Ready Room without logging out. But I don't want to be able to craft from there, that's just pure laziness.

Entering a mission lobby and not inviting anyone misleads people to think you're doing a mission. Also it's more graphics-intensive than the regular ready room.

I would like this to happen.

I would like this to happen. I think it should be around number 100 on their to-do list, but I would welcome it.

I don't know why a feature that makes the game more convenient shouldn't be implemented because it caters to "laziness." Why not remove all crafting devices except the one in the Bazaar, if convenience is so unimportant in a universe of "hard-working SK players?"

Examples of implementing a change for the sake of convenience are quite ubiquitous in many successful games: Mounts in MMORPGs, Waypoints in Diablo, Teleportation methods in Zelda, etc. It's a game; people like to be lazy on the tedious parts so they can better focus on the fun parts.

No, there's a difference

No, there's a difference between convenience implementations and people wanting changes out of sheer laziness. If there was only one crafting machine in the entire game, stuffed away in the Bazaar, then people might request some more, say in the other sections of Haven, guild halls, CW villages etc, but this is requesting a crafting machine in a room that you only spend two minutes per game in. There's utterly no need for it, he might as well be asking for a crafting machine every ten feet in case he cbf running from the AH to the SE corner.

lol

that was funny darkbaby, that last comment. :P. i think we should just change the ready room to the escape pods that we crashed in. something like a small little cotage for spiral knights to rest cause there are no houses in haven. we said were only staying here temporarily, so we do know the knights do need to rest cause there mist has to recharge. also there were so many small escape pods in the begining stater levels, so why not say they transported our pods to haven for us to use as a place for our own little rooms. (just an idea. )
