the ruling has changed due to internal gremlin uprisings.
if you have a poem you wish to enter, please post it here on this thread. the entries will be judged and (almost) everyone will earn a prize
prizes are the following:
1st place: 10,000 crowns, one 2* handgun with unique variant four 5* materials
2nd place: two 5* materials
3rd place: six 4*materials
4th place: three 4* materials
5th place: seven 2-3* materials
all runner ups will receive a random amount of 0-1* materials
notice: if i judge that two people are worthy of 1st place, then both people will receive 5000 crowns and two 5* materials.
there will be 5 runner ups, so don't get your hopes up
as for my poem, which doesn't count towards the contest, it is the following:
Marching far from home
The brave ones come and go
Dreaming to return
To the ones they love and yearn
Fighting far from home
The brave ones walk alone
To protect the ones they love
From the chaos of war
All the brave return
To embrace or to rain
The brave ones return
From the chaos of war
But some breathe no more
The fallen of the war
They return to rain
The heroes of the day
The fallen of the war
Whom gave their lives for more
Who wished for peace not war
Shall be remembered, forevermore

any poetry or other form of artistic writing is allowed, so long as it contains reasonable language. (i know that some players are of elemetry school age, even though some of them already know how to cuss each other out at school...)

Ballad of The Swarm
In years gone past, in times forgotten,
The God came fleeing, his brothers gone rotten.
A pact was made, as was a trade,
A fortress for him, in exchange for a kingdom.
To storm of darkness, this world must fall,
Unless they come to save us all.
Foes at first, but friends at last,
Closer comes, the Knights of Spiral
Enter the Clockworks, enter your doom;
Inside lays many a brave man's tomb.
To the Core, peace once restored,
Then face the Swarm, not what, but who?
The King, the Queen, the Beasts, the Gourd,
The Slime, the Hounds, the Mare, the Lord.
Awakened together, united by power,
Closer comes, closer the Swarm
Standing tall, their swords held high,
Some will live, many will die.
But in battle that day, one side shall be slayed,
And this world shall rise, or it shall die.
Turn to face the oncoming storm,
Forces united, a planet reborn.

Hi!
Just gonna make this up on the spot.. lol don't think I can compete against Mr.Nechrome, but I have to say I make a 'decent' poem, but yeah it is 11:34 Pm, so w/e lol, for the fun of it! :D What should it be about? o_o ... hmm...? No...? :/ Something comedic? No way... Well Poem's about Strangers would be too short :\ Playing SK? No, I want an in depth theme, something... dramatic...... hmmm let's go with...
To See the Light Again, within a Realm of Darkness
Down below, a world of gears,
the darkness shrouds, amid my fears.
I see not the light of day,
But am forced to keep those that lurk at bay.
I fight with weapons, to slay those that draw near,
incompetent to the sadness that I refuse to hear.
This world I see, is of many kinds,
different places, within different lives.
Look around and what you see,
is space set in time, it cannot be free.
The smell and taste of metal in the air,
yet stepping on this grass it doesn't care.
Like a clock these world are set,
trapped, but they cannot fret.
But here I am, within it all.
Moving forward, I cannot fall.
Yet danger crawls everywhere,
creatures from this place, they are not rare.
As my sword moves and sings,
I think about many things.
My life above on the world of light,
where we are safe with no fright.
I laugh and smile with those I love,
but here I am, I'm no dove.
I heave a sigh, a breath, and wait,
for the evil appears in darkness' wake.
The glint of the eyes, a pure red,
Easily fills anyone with dread.
I move quickly, my sword a blaze,
as fire spreads, the enemy fades.
My quest is not over, not in the least,
as I tread towards the path ahead.
I wonder if I'll see the light again,
despite being locked within darkness den.
I ponder of my life above,
and remember who I'm fighting for.
Despite the lives that fall at my feet,
I remember why I first lifted the sword.
To protect the light that I cherish so,
to see the joy upon his face, and know he will can grow.
As my swords drags heavily on the ground,
I hear a grumble, not a natural sound.
I turn around to see the offender,
but now I look into the eyes of the apprehender.
I gasp a breath, a wasted action.
As the thing comes down with commendable strength.
I defend myself to the end,
and realize this is but a wasted attempt,
As my sword comes clanging to the ground.
I feel the darkness creep up without a sound.
As my arms and legs begin growing numb,
It dawns upon me just how dumb
it is to try and fight a fight,
Within a place that you have no right.
Well, I'm not sure if you got that but, I 'think' some knight was exploring the clockworks when he got killed by the Swarm or something? Idk lol... or did he? ;) (Don't worry he's not dead.)

The Hungry Snipe
There once was a hungry snipe
Who had an orange oh so ripe.
He stomped on a flower and started to devour the orange.
When the snipe was done,
He started to run
To get a new fruit.
Once he had gotten
An apple not too rotten
He shoved it in his mouth
And finally migrated south.

It seems to me, that you can't see,

it makes me want to jump and prance!

Lol yes, a little rhyme I made up to let you know I really don't care who you choose for the winner, the prize is more of a bonus for me lol. And this is a RHYME, not a poem, there's a difference, just because poems usually rhyme, doesn't mean that words that rhyme are a poem. And this is not supposed to influence your choice at all, just read what I wrote lol!

Behind the slits of dented metal,
his eyes glint, winter frost on pines, dangerously
assessing sharpened spines, hoping his
are sharper.
Sword aloft, tail swishes, the knight
steps forth a pace. Supple leather
mimes muscles tensing,
breathing heightened, tension raised.
Roaring, steaming, sharp and blunt a
roar cuts through the air but stalwart,
knight remains
weak against himself. Against the urge,
to cut. To kill. To feel
blood against his icy skin.
To feel
lonely blade on bone.
Falling softer than fresh snow,
his blade, following its master.
Mourning lost humanity,
mourning his lost soul.
The beast, smells iron fear,
strikes.
“A clean cut” he thinks,
and falls, hoping it’s enough.

Oh, it says the date is now the third Sunday of October, and he moved it back a day because of some movie thing lol, and.. I never knew that a ballad was an actual form of poetry with rules! I know a ballad is a poem type, but not like a haiku or w/e! Oh, and thanks :D

sorry for the late reply to you all. as for the movie thing, it was squedualed BEFORE i started this, so dafuq? to that. anyway, winners have been decided and... pretty much everyone got something, i think. sadly i was unable to access my computer today due to colledge people in my house having to write junk and me being told to do laundry, again dafuq? so at latest prizes will be mailed tomorrow, no earier than sometime tonight, that is if my older sister, aka one of the colledge peoples, gets off and goes to sleep before midnight...
...note to self, strangle punpkin king for fifty of each candy....

My username is the short version of Euatevokkiana, a name I created for a roleplay character I created back in 1996. XD The name just stuck, and my entire internet persona from the last 16 years is tied to it. I really couldn't imagine being called anything else online, really, and even respond to "Tev" in real life if someone says it aloud.
