Got bored the other day and decided to write something for Tevokkia's epic great big contest... here goes... Still a work in progress, first 700ish words here. For characters I've got me and a bunch of guild mates, mainly because I'm crap at creating my own characters XD. Imma work on this whenever I find myself with some spare time, and with luck I'll be done with it by the first of december. No idea how long it's gonna be, but meh we'll see. No idea what to call it yet- the story line still hasn't fully developed in my head. Comments and criticism very welcome, I haven't done this before and soem feedback would be great.
--Fanfic Begins--
Some months ago, a Stranger in Haven had been selling Hunter costumes, guaranteed to camoflauge perfectly in Wolver dens when holographically projected over more practical armour. Now, pressed against one of the few tall trees in the dark Den, Azkaellion sure wished he'd forked out the crowns.
Normally, defeating a den of wolvers would have been a peice of cake, but today there was something more than just a pack of beasts stalking him. He'd sensed it behind him like something you see in the corner of your eye that's gone the second you turn to look at it. At least he wasn't facing- or rather, not facing- this nameless threat on his own.
Across the clearing Fruitpanda, his fellow Knight of the Spiral Order, was pressed against a similar tree, barbarous blade in hand as he listened for any sounds in the dark that might give away the mysterious stalker. For a handful of heartbeats more, they both stood motionless. Though both sets of ears strained for any insight, whatever it was that followed them made not a sound. Giving up, Fruit motioned with his sword and the pair crept down the path.
An eriee silence proceeded ahead of them down the trail, in a level normally filled with the ambient sounds of trees creaking, wolvers barking, lizards hissing and the wind in the grass. Azkaellion checked his gear as the went- the incredibly powerful Callahan handgun, with an Umbra Driver revolver and a Ash of Agni bomb as backup. His shield was an Aegis, and he was wearing a matching Justifier Jacket and Hat, the traditional gear of quick-eyed gunners whose attackes excelled at peircing normal defences. The power cells mounted on the wrists boosted the power to joint servos on the armour, giving the wearer a speedy edge for quick shots. The Justifier set wasn't very aesthetically pleasing though, so he wore a set of Solid Cobalt armour holographically projected over his armour, along with a matching wide brimmed 'Heavy Stranger Hat', bartered from Kozma back in Haven.
Fruit, on the other hand, was an experienced swordsmaster and carried a raper fashioned from a spine off the back of the Snarbolax. For backup he carried a short sword infused with the elemental essence of ice, and his shield was crafted from Snarbolax hide. He appeared to be wearing Snarbolax armour too, but that was just a costume projected over Skolver armour, along with his distinctive chapeu of the Blue Rose, the garb of an ancient order of legendary fencers. The silence was opressive, daring any man or beast to break it. But broken it was- as Fruit crept forward on point, his foot brushed against a small mound of bare dirt and a faint but distinctive moan sounded from beneath.
Fruit caught Azkaellion's eye in surprise as a skeletal hand clawed up through the earth. The Knights stepped back, shields raised as a zombie climbed from it's disguised pit. A zombie in wolver territory- this was most unusual, as most wolvers loved pulling them apart for their bones. It lumbered forward, fleshless limbs extended, until Azkaellion caught it in the chest with a magnum blast from his Callahan. The monster staggered but didn't fall, and had almost recovered when Fruit stabbed it through the eye with his rapier. As it turned out, killing the zombie was a bad idea. As if on cue, dozens of skeletal arms reached up through the dirt as the Knights settled back to fight for their lives against the undead horde. Most of them just stumbled forward to grapple or bite the Knights, but some made huge leaps at them or exhaled poisonous clouds. Not a single attack made contact- Fruit moved like a whirlwind, slashing at one zombie with his Glacius then changing weapons in the blink of an eye to stab the nest with his rapier. Azkaellion stood further back, headshotting undead with unerring accuracy, pausing only to throw the occasional Ash of Agni- a rare fire bomb that ignited the battlefield with an arcane fire that burned only undead flesh.
I've Spiral Spied the first two characters, and here they are:

I've got a two week holiday to a beach coming up, so I'll hopefully have plenty of time to write this thing.
