I had an SK account at first, but then it became available on steam so I switched.
Because of that I can't give an accurate answer, but there are hints.
- My forum preferences for this account says 51 weeks and 1 day
- My alt has 1 year 5 weeks
- I first started playing about a week before the release of T1 Snarby
Actual play time: (will have to update later, I'm using my poop comp that can't get Steam installed) (I'm also not sure if it gets skewed by the Steam thing)

If you did not make a regular -> steam account conversion, you can find an accurate amount of time by clicking "forum preferences" next to the search bar. But putting in perspective of updates is good to.

That does not report the time elapsed since you started playing. I think that it reports the time elapsed since you first posted on the forums.

I do believe I started playing on a Sunday...April 10th 2011 if I recall? It was either then or the weekend after. But I started fairly early after launch.

The forum preferences
The forum preferences represent when you validated your email so you could post. For those that immediately validated everything this may as well represent your join date.
In my case my forums preferences say 1 year 47 weeks, which matches up to an actual start date of October 24th, 2010. By clicking on the View tab again in the Forum Preferences it looks like it adds your forum user number to the URL. The wiki also has chronological user lists ;).

I've been around since quite
I've been around since quite shortly after the end of the Preview Event. I played the game for about a month regularly, then quit for a few months to focus on school and work, then I came back some time later (don't remember exactly when) and played some more. Fun fact about me: to those of you who have seen my videos on Youtube and think I'm really good at the game and all, I actually used to be a huge noob. How nooby? Well let's just say that I didn't know shields are a totally separate piece of equipment from your armor and does not automatically increase your defense power by the shield's stats. It was when I learned how to use a shield for the first time I actually beat Jelly King.
Then after working full time through summer 2011, I bought (probably) TOO much CE, (I'm too afraid to look at my list of Steam purchases made in Spiral Knights) and started to buff up my arsenal quite a bit. Nowadays I don't play much anymore due to myself working full time again but this time all year round. My internet service doesn't like SK anymore yet any other games fine, so I'm also waiting to get into an apartment of my own in an area where I can get very fast cable service, so before you say "OMG ANOTHER GOOD PLAYER QUITTING" don't worry, I'll be back...

I've been playing since August 9, 2011. Ugh, just missed the Spiral Bombhead Mask promo!
A tip for steam users, you can find out when you started by going to the SK stats page and finding out when you got the "first steps" achievement.

Just over a year now.
There are 8760 hours in a year, and I've spent 3,000 of them with SK running on my computer, not always playing, sometimes it might be left up whilst I was away for a couple hours, but still...3k hours in a 8.7k year, that's insane...

Mine directly says 1 year and 13 weeks so yeah ^^ This however is based off the forum.
When i created or made Minie im not so sure.
Also i had a six month break soooooooooooooooooooo it has been a while.
All i can remember is that i made it before:
- Auction House Release [May 17 2011]
- Second Rose of Regalia Sale - Blue, Yellow, Green [April 29 2011]
- Before Snarbolax and Roarmulus release [June 6 and July 7], and thats it lol.
So most likely April or May 2011 ^^

I made my account in late
I made my account in late June 2011, but didn't really play until July.
Started playing right when it was released on steam and got addicted. (took a break for a few months around time when missions were added)
