Variety VS Cash

So you're a lowly knight in 3* or less gear, and you've asked someone to drag you through Vanaduke for the fifteenth time.
But there's one problem... You're starting to get a little -BORED-...
Maybe you want to reconsider your gameplay, or maybe you just want to quit. Hey! Before you do that, take a moment to consider what drew people to the game in the first place.
The clockworks! No, not those silly e-boner missions that take you through "the clockworks". I mean the Arcade clockworks.
By knowing the maps, and how things work, you too can add a little spice to your game play.

There are pros and cons to this brilliant scheme. Bear with me.

Let's say you just stop caring about the income and you just want some variety. Pick a random gate, and roll with it. Okay? Good.

Now, let's say you're looking for some variety, but you still got some of that greed left in you. Just don't forget, there's more to explore than just the Firestorm Citadel!
Look for certain areas in the clockworks, mostly in the lower stratum. Like, Arenas, Aurora Isles, Graveyards (good luck getting those)
They tend to pay loads more than levels like Scarlet Fortress. Problem is, the gates may not be favorable, or you might die. Try using the Party Finder to join closer to depth 13, if you're so concerned about stuff like this.

Now if you want the most efficient way to get crowns with your allotted mist, then stick to your boring Vanaduke and don't whine until OOO comes out with more "balanacing" patches.

Good post.

Good post, but some actual IRL problems.
-People who play this game tend to prefer cash over variety. That is why there is never anyone, EVER, in the T3 Arcade.
I don't know about anyone else here, but I say, let's do this!

No, I did not specifically use that quote from Leroy Jenkins for people to think that it would fail.

Aurora Isles: Stone Grove has a hidden key. Try to find it.

That is why there is never anyone, EVER, in the T3 Arcade.

I still run the arcade o.o

Even before missions and the like came out, I got bored spamming the same stuff over and over again. EPs were the greatest thing to ever happen to SK imo, because it meant you could actually do what you *wanted*, whether it was profitable or not. Bored of FSC? Go kill Snarby a few times, relax a bit, have fun~

Actually, I do go down in the Arcade quite frequently. It's just... by the time I can be bothered to clear down to t3, I always end up having 2 days before the gates rotate. This isn't because I'm so terribad I die every single time, it's just I don't have the time to play every day, and I don't have an elevator pass either. I also refuse to pay a 500cr fee every single time I go down, because I am a skinflint. I have also seen pretty much every single level type in the Arcade Clockworks, other than Stygian Steeds and those which are currently removed from the game (Shrine of Slumber series, Starlight Cradle and so forth). The reason I never managed to find the Stygian Steeds is because despite my best efforts I never manage to get the level when either myself or Rawr floods the gate with Crimsonite and Dark Matter at t3 (again), or because someone dumped a ton of Luminite shortly before opening.

If anyone wants to help me with this matter, all assistance will be greatly apprecia- hey, where did everyone go?

.

What's this? OOO has released another "balancing" patch? (If only!)
The Vanaduke mission pays significantly less than the gate? What a tragedy! (If this were to happen, I would be a happy panda)
This looks like a big problem! But not for you! The clever fellow who stalks the party finder to hitch a ride to the Clockworks terminal! (Depths 4, 13, 23, respectively for each tier!)

Now you're spiraling with greed in mind! (Say, weren't we trying to repair the Skylark?)

@thatGerman123guy

  1. Go to Party Finder
  2. Find party at Clockwork Terminal
  3. Wait for game to load
  4. Rediscover that Basil doesn't stock recipes unless you've completed at least one full level before the terminal
  5. Rageface, leave and find new party at level above terminal
  6. Rediscover that Basil considers 'one full level' to mean 'loading from elevator'
  7. Rageface, leave and find new party at two levels above terminal
  8. Reach Basil, find all crappy recipes
  9. Ragequit

amirite?

I know!

@Keyboard
There's a corridor at the top of the map. Above that is a wall with holes in. Behind this wall are some blocks. Hit the blocks. One contains a switch, and gives you the key.
