What are you looking for in a guild?

I believe most people join in a guild to enjoy the companionship of other players. Another reason might be for help in completting missions. If you've already got a group of friends that you regularly play with, then you might not want or need a guild. However, here are some other things that some guilds can add to your gaming experience.

- live voice chat
- mentors or tutors tohelp you increase your knowledge of and skill in the game
- guild vs. guild play in Lockdown
- an additional website for sharing in forums and posting pictures and screenshots
- a guildhall for decorating and hanging out in

Remember, it's possible to be in a guild and still be lonely. Greeting and socializing in haven with a range of other players regardless of guild will greatly increase your enjoyment of the game, although you should avoid random friend requests and be leary of hit and run invitations to join any guild.

After being in the game for awhile, you may decide that you don't need a guild after all, or that it's about time you joined one. But either way, know why you are joining and keep realistic expecations about what you will get out of and put into your guild experience.

What I like to see in a guild

My favorite part of belonging to a guild is the humorous banter that fills guild chat. Besides that, guild runs, weird guild traditions, and warm welcomes for new guildmates are also part of the desired experience.

Support within members. Some type of bromance going on. People with sense of humor. No beggars, generous people and activeness.

Tis why I love my guild <3

I say guilds are like and should be like strip shopping malls. Imagine each store is a guild, so essentially a strip of guilds. Guilds are essentially that close to each other. Guilds are easily accessible with a click of a button, a small conversation, or by mail (at least the popular ones). Imagine you (whoever is reading this) are wanting to join one of those guilds. Initially, you would like to check the guilds out via SK Wiki Guild Pages, or the Guild Recruitment Forum. Then, you would make your decision based on what goes with your interests. Ultimately it all comes down to how unique a guild is. The basic format of a guild is just a group of people with different ranks under one name. However, guilds have took the effort to go beyond that. For example: Dedication to GvG Lockdown, Dedication to Shadow Lairs (Yes I know a guild that is very dedicated to shadow lairs, but they aren't that popular), Making videos of the guild to entertain everybody else, Holding in-guild competitions, Raising the inexperienced players to become pros, etc.

Personally, my ideal scenario is having lots of popular guilds specialize in something. In my view/opinion/whatever, I see guilds like Rigorous, Aequitas, Lockdown Aces, etc, are in the GvG Lockdown group. Each of those guilds are dedicated to Lockdown and like fighting. There are guilds like Draco of Dusk (or whatever they are) that exist just from the bonds of friendship (I think...). Then, a guild that tries to be an ideal perfect guild by encompassing different dedications like The Jempire. They have good Lockdown teams, a popular and active guild website, hosting in-guild competitions, having a good chatting atmosphere, etc (at least this is my view on them). However, having many and many guilds like The Jempire will just end up boring everybody because everybody is doing the same thing. (Not saying The Jempire is ruining everything, I do think only one guild like The Jempire is good for people that like the all in one type of deal, or for other reasons.) I would like to see more guilds forming with different dedications, which can attract more and more knights with the same interest. We should have guilds be dedicated to making podcasts, music videos, competitions, newspapers, etc. Unfortunately, the majority of things I see at the moment are all guild lockdown. Not that I see anything bad about it, I would just like to see more variety. Or maybe I am just around too many Lockdown people that I don't see the other things people are doing out there.

I look for people who don't

I look for people who don't remove you from their friend list just because you turned down their CLEARLY polite 1-word request to join your clockworks run when you tell them that you're solo-ing for materials.

Ahhh guilds. This game is the first MMO I've been in where I've actually joined one. And just putting this out there, I cannot thank OOO or any of the guilds I've been in previously to the one I'm in now, enough.

I'm a personality kind of Cheese and I love a good chat, and a good chat is what I always get. How I ever survived before without a guild I do not know, wait... I remember I didn't survive, I jumped from MMO to MMO but now, I've been playing this game for over a year and have been in my guild for over 6 months. A lot has changed, and a lot has happened. But I've had my friends right beside me all the while, and will in future.

No idea what sort of response to put to this post, but I'll just leave this here. Guilds are the best thing in MMO's in my opinion. Nothing can keep you playing a game like a good group of buds to have fun with, although I do play other things with some of my guild mates too :P

What I look for in guilds?

Excellence
Personality somewhat similar to mine
Quite Large
Has voice chat program
Is not interested in lockdown (I suck so badly at lockdown that everyone knows.)

SO there you go.
Also, I'm looking for a guild after that incident with Coalesce waiting for an update that never comes before ranking up anyone. Yep. Guildhall update. It's fate will be the same as the Iron Slug buff and Half-Life 3.

I think it was made clear that everyone is equal in this guild, that officer is invite only, and that there won't be any promotions above Member until the Guild Hall update.

We're sorry that you don't feel comfortable in a guild of equals, and we hope that you'll be happier in the next guild you find.

A guild holds many interests

A guild holds many interests and qualities not just by those who are currently in it, but also those who actually run it. It's important to have some sort of structure and principals that are not taken lightly. I'd also say "no drama" but that almost always happens. It's more about how it is managed by those above. The sooner it is taken care of or eliminated, the sooner things go back to normal, whatever that may mean to you.
