Well, I just started playing and my energy depleted lightning fast, I thought I could have made at least enough money/got enough materials to craft a T2 item, but I was wrong due to T2 items costing half of my daily energy to make, and as such I'm now stuck for the whole day, so is there a way to make enough money to buy CE as a noob or am I just supposed to either play for 1-2 hours/day or craft 1-2 items?
At which dungeon tier will I be able to farm enough money with my daily Mist in order to buy 100 CE (so I need to make about 9k every 100 Mist)
Any tips or tricks to earn more money at T1 dungeons(made about 4-5k on my first day and used 3k to buy a hot-blade to complete a quest)?
How do I make CE as a noob?
I know, I just couldn't find Brimstone and needed it to complete the crafting quest so I just bought it.
I assume that you don't want to spend real money. So you have to get CE by trading with another player. You can trade anything of value, but people usually trade crowns. So this thread is basically another "how do I get crowns?" thread. There are already several running in the New Recruits forum. Some other advice:
* Do not revive with energy, unless everyone in the party is dead. Just patiently wait for someone to revive you with health.
* At current energy prices, the boss levels of RJP and IMF are not profitable, so skip them unless you want the reward items.
* If I recall correctly, the first two levels of RJP pay about 2,000 crowns. So RJP is already profitable, even at today's CE prices.
* Always plan your equipment in terms of 5-star items, because that's where everything ends up. Read the wiki and the Arsenal forum. Once you know which 5-star items you want, look back in their alchemy paths, to figure out how to get them. This may sound fanciful for a 2-star free-to-play player, but being free-to-play makes it especially important that you not waste your scant resources on dumb items.
* Unless you're going for great UVs, buy 3-star items, and then craft them up to 5-star yourself. This is the most economical way.
buying 3* items is still not so good. because:
recipe=4000 cr
energy=200 (100 mist+9k cr)
crafting cost=1000 cr
totally 14k crowns.
i sometimes ragecraft 3* items and put them in ah at a bidding price of 16k -which is one of the lowest prices for 3* items i have seen*. the only disadvantage is that you can't play for a long time. if that matters to you, then do what bopp said.
but don't craft 2* items, just buy them.
*:3* items usually start between 14k-18k and the buying price is usually 20k-24k. i got a striker for 7k once. and not sold it. because striker is awesome.
Crafting 3*s is more expensive than buying them off the AH (provided you don't buy at stupid prices). Why? Because that 100 mist you use is valuable: it could have earned you 10 depths worth of crowns. That's 10-11kcr if you just run the first two depths of RJP five times. So you've effectively paid 24-25kcr, not 14kcr.
P.S. I buy 3*s at 10-12kcr all the time. Patience. Timing. Luck.
P.P.S. to the OP: if you'd checked the AH for Hot Edges, you could have bought one for under 900cr, easily.
Hell, if you'd gotten on at the right time, you could have bought a 2* item for under 900cr.
I keep flogging off Wolver Coats and Owlite Shields at 825 cr starting bids.
Also, it's cheapest to pretty much pass straight over 1* gear (other than mission requisite items) and just go straight to 2*; most of those items are about 1-2k cr in the AH, or less if you're lucky. One of the missions also gives you the Cobalt set for free (although the armour isn't that great). I would also be perfectly happy to send you some decent starter kit to help you out, if you so wish. Send me a friend request if you want to take up that offer :B

Thanks everyone for your answers.
To answer a few doubts, yes, I'm thinking about going F2P at least until I figure out the game and decide if it's worth spending money on, so I just need some starting advices mostly, and also I didn't know there was an AH until a few moments ago, trying to get back what I lost by buying the hot-edge from the merchant with some good ol' merchanting now.
I get from your comments that I need to get to this RJP place and well, how do I do that? Do I need to ask some high-tiered gear guy to bring me there or can I just do it myself? I still don't get much of how the clockworks work, I just did missions up till now.
@Aureate: I gladly accept your offer, I just added you to friends, thanks for everything mate!
RJP is short for Royal Jelly Palace, i.e. the Royal Jelly boss. It's a Tier-2 mission, maybe rank 5-2 or so. I recommend that you simply march through the rank missions in order, doing them all. You get some decent rewards, and you learn about the game rules again and again, so that maybe they sink in. You do not need a higher-level player to take you there, but it will help on the first couple of tries. If you join a random RJP party, then it will almost certainly have competent people who can carry you through. Just do your part in fighting, and try to observe what's going on, so that it's not an educational waste.
By the way, boss missions generally give the best payouts for their tier. You may want to do a few Snarbolax runs before progressing with your 2* gear, since this will allow you to get a nice shield with about the same defence as the Defender you got for free, as well as a sword damage bonus to boot. (3 runs should be enough, since you usually get 3 tokens per complete run as well as a bonus token for completing the mission the first time.) The mission also has an excellent piercing bomb, if you feel so inclined.
I'll send you some stuff to help you get started as soon as I log on again :3
i didnt really need ce when i was a noob but i friend-ed a guy and he was lucky enough to give me 200 ce and he said just buy some with your crowns and real life money there is no other way of getting ce
so please stop whining those are the only ways to get ce
P.S dont beg alot for some ce or else people will report you:)
In fact, the beginning of the game requires time and patience. You will get good items in the first missions of up to two-star items. After that, it would be a good idea to look at Wiki equipment, define your set of five stars and focus on it. Search constantly on the Auction House to see if it's cheaper to buy or build the equipment in question. I remember that with alchemy, you have chances to get exclusive buffs in the equipment.
And always remember that no one makes better from one day to the other, much less alone.
I wish you good luck!
"and used 3k to buy a hot-blade"
You're wasting money. Crafting is way cheaper at that point.
