that would make the boss fight a a lot better, just saying.
think about it.

well yes, but the other bosses dont really need a health bar because they have a lot of "stages" and they dont constantly heal. however with the jelly king its impossible to tell whether he's almost dead or whether he just healed back to full
He loses his crown at one point in the fight, I think that's a pretty clear-cut stage.
They all have noticeable "changes". JK loses his crown, Vana loses his mask etc and they have very distinctive "phases" with the exception of Snarby, who's just stab-kill anywyas. You should never be in any doubt about boss hps.
And why should tehy get hp bars? Nothing else does.
right, but you know that he can still heal himself up but he doesnt regain the crown so there is no way to tell his health
im aware that the jelly king has 2 stages. its just that he heals so you can never really tell where he's at.
*shrug*
Don't let him heal. Thas rule number 1 for JK. Either poison him or outdamage the heals.
FoV and Pepperbox are ideal for destroying his health faster than he can heal; Acheron works as well if you have low sword damage.
Otherwise, DVS, VV, poison vials...
right, but what if you don't play this game 24/7, and dont have hundreds of thousands of crowns lying around and all the weapons you want in your inventory?
what if you are actually 2* and playing the jelly king without a huge arsenal at your disposal?

You don't need a huge arsenal. Just a bit more practice. Even at 2* it's not impossible. Practice, practice, practice.
Seriously, after a few more runs it'll all come a lot more smoothly. Especially in a group who is also learning about the fight. Jelly King is not terribly difficult and an HP bar, in the long run, is likely more trouble for OOO than it'd be worth.
We can play the "what if" game all day, but at the end of the day the same strategies apply, regardless of how expansive or limited a player's arsenal is, and even then, the healing that he does is negligible to the damage you -should- be incurring unless you just, y'know, sit in a corner and play Go Fish or something.
Health bars would be nice but they're not something I'm hell-bent on seeing put into the game, so there's not much to think about.
What is with people and health bars? The bosses all kinda do have health bars (except for Snarby) as everybody mentioned above ^^^
You do all know that the royal jelly has THREE phases, right? First phase: Crown. Second phase: Cracked Crown. Third phase: Destroyed crown.
When I didn't have all teh weapons I needed...I used poison/fire vials. Then DVS. Then VV. Then FoV. Then Pepperbox.
If you want to kill JK, you'll need weapons, and none are more expensive than others (except, arguably, FoV)
For Snarb i noticed that at a certain health he will regain shield no matter how long ago you stunned him, I'd say that is around 1/3 health.
Edit: Chalez, RJ has 3 stages, normal crown, cracked crown, and broken crown
As you may notice this game don't have most of things which average of MMO's have.
And before complain on anything, ask yourself: "Why it doesn't exist? Why didn't developers add it?". And I promise you, most of your suggestions and questions will disappear by themselves.
Yes, but he is a King made of Jelly. He is not royal enough to be Royal. See the wikipage for example:The Jelly King The link is http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Jelly_King
@Royal-Night
Odd, I seem to have been redirected to the Royal Jelly page from your link. The page to which the proper link is http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Royal_Jelly
@Chalez, thread
Vials are your friends. Even now I still stock up on Fire, Poison, and Curse vials when I'm in RJP for use against the boss. One thing you can do to prevent the healing is to take out the Royal Polyps along the sides of the arena. I'm fairly sure they only spawn when the Royal Jelly changes phases, and they're the source of the healing. Back when I was a 2* player, the Royal Jelly spawned its own Royal Minis for healing, and it was almost always necessary to grab the right vials.
For all people's criticisms of these things, a health bar (Provided it was toggled on/off via options like damage numbers) wouldn't negatively effect the game in anyway, if you want it you turn it on, if you don't you keep it off. I personally wouldn't use, but heck if I had the option I'd have my entire hud turned off, so go figure. More options never hurts anyone, especially basic ui stuff like this.
I'm fairly sure that anyone who part of a royal family, who have titles like King, Queen, Prince and Princess is royalty.
So do dukes, duchesses, earls and other high nobility.
I think it's time to post this again.
Also if anything should have a health bar, it's Snarbolax, the only boss whose pattern never changes based on health. Or maybe Seerus.
Roarmulus has like 5 phases (I forget)
RJ has three phases (normal, cracked, crownless)
Vanaduke has 5 phases
Actually I thought it would be nice for normal enemies to have a mini-healthbar, even though I have damage numbers enabled, it's nice to know what percent my damage adds up to.
Well, this guy beat the Royal Jelly with nothing but Proto.
So I think 2* is enough.
Then again, them skillz dis guy has is crazy man.
If OOO can't even put accurate bars on weapons (see faust), how would health bars on enemies be helpfull? :P
but then it won't ever get seen...
and yup it would be. it would be awesome if bosses in general had health bars. we've worked out a few concepts. not sure where they've been shuffled off too, but if you search "health bar" in the search, I'm sure you could find it ^_^
