Banned ....for two days due to using vulgar language. A ban of which I was provoked into incurring.
I was playing LD as a gunner with my situation of being poor and not being able to afford trinket slots or an additional weapon slot. I went with my two most viable guns in full nameless; polaris and callahan. The tactic being to blind with polaris and callahan snipe. It worked quite well until a couple of fools who couldnt dodge slow moving polaris bullets fired by an AUSTRALIAN with a SIGNIFICANT LAG DISADVANTAGE started whining and calling me such unpleasantries synonymous with 'noob' and 'polaris spammer'. Naturally, I couldn't sit by and watch a golden opportunity to goad others into rage-quitting slip by so I said some things... which provoked them to complain to OOO.
Resulting in this ban! albeit temporarily; still makes me ponder the testicular fortitude or rather lack thereof from some of these players. I've fought numerous top-tier players who've not once complained of such spamming; in fact they welcome such chaos by join in.
Seriously, what is the deal with people complaining about spamming? Spamming is a tactic that is used by EVERYONE yet polaris spammers get singled out like pariahs. The bullets are slow moving, provides knockback, blinding and has what i believe to be a ~50% chance of shock. It serves the purpose to DISCOMBOBULATE! not come up to you gently and tap a few health bars off. There is a way around every weapon.
My spamming is warranted as a result of being poor and/or frugal as well as all spamming of all different kinds of weapons for no other reason other than because you simply can. Spamming is a legitimate tactic.
Up until this point of playing the game, all i can say is there are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp, and I do not hope for a better cradle for anyone. In fact, I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape. But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis; my punishment continues to elude me, and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing.
I will be back with a vengeance D:< and more polaris spamming.
I would also like to mention Dark-divinity is my hero; greatest polaris USER I've seen in LD. I would also like to suggest a function to turn off/hide the chat as to allow myself and others to see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. In light of this unfortunate event; i will still continue to play SK and purchase amenities :D.

There were ways to prevent you from using vulgar.... But, when it comes to LD, I can totally see what you're talking about. It is zero-tolerance using vulgar in Spiral Knights communities. Just go ahead and ignore them next time. Good luck in Lockdown!

I like your writing style.
I don't like dying when i play PvE, so I have very good defensive gear. However, in Lockdown, dying is unavoidable, and geting killed by other players can add to the pain, which is one fo the reasons I never play. As for the game itself - repeatedly cricle jerking your sword before spewing your gun from a base - well, I can see how that might appeal to pubescent male teens.
Like anything in this game, and as Aget said, don't take it seriously. You'll enjoy the many apects of the game much more that way.

@Aget this thread is not about me taking this game seriously, I am simply telling those certain players to grow a pair and stop complaining about common pvp tactics with questionable efficacy. I am merely trying to incite more polaris USE, violence and outrage.
@Mawashimono the overall tone may come off as serious because this is one of the few times I've typed with proper coherent sentences and spelling. Typing in a pseudo-braindead manner is what I usually do and that actually requires more effort on my part. You understand the nature of the game, its just a lot of other people who don't. These other people come into LD thinking they're godlike figures that can't be tarnished by taboo weapons. This 'holier than thou' attitude is unnecessary but I do understand that this game's demographic encompasses a large portion of pubescent male teens whom are prone to it.
I grow weary of the PvE aspect so PVP is the go-to for killing time as I usually play the game between shifts, getting drunk and all the other stuff as I work on a fly-in fly-out basis

Learn to ignore or /ignore. I go into LD as a support based haze bomber; I average around 100~3k damage per match. People don't look at caps and people don't consider tangible benefits during a match. All people look at is damage. Similarly, all people focus on is the "standard" elitist base; skolver and teethpicks. Polaris usage is "spamming", WRH is "spamming", hell I even get called a spammer because I use bombs.
Point is, people are gunna whine and moan and rage and squeal and throw tantrums over anything and everything that isn't a teethpick, they will take any excuse to go at it. It's basically just another word for "laaaag" or "hax" or "omg uv/op" or any other whiney excuse people can think of.
So yes, learn to ignore them. They shouldn't affect your playstyle or gaming experience. Have fun, /ignore the fools~

Some people are just mad because they're incapable of not button mashing (which usually leads them straight into the polaris bullets).
When I used the sun shards (pre-patch), people would accuse me of Auto Aim.
Auto aim. With a bomb. /facepalm
They're just raging because they can't play LD quite as well as you and anybody else they're yelling at. The really funny part is when people who spam everything start yelling at you for spamming. i don't mind spamming, the weapons were created that way so people might as well use the weapons that way, but I absolutely DESPISE it when people who continuously combo spam yell at others for spamming.
It's even funnier when they yell about Dusker clones using Swift Flourishes when they're a Dusker clone using a TSB. The irony of some people...
Don't let people get to you. The best LD damages are still toothpicks, not hammers. People who use Shadowsun and only a polaris generally get about 7k max in LD, whereas alchemer users get more. "Spamming" is a style of playing, and it doesn't give anyone a distinctive advantage over anyone else, or else the best players would have already resorted to spamming as well to beat their damage.

Yes, people 'quotespamunquote' in LD. Yes, people 'quotespamunquote' in PvE as well. In short, those who complain of spam are those who use it as spam. Go figure.
I mean, some people can actually effectively use the Kilowatt Pulsar to deny me entrance to a passageway. They aren't spammers. They have actual skill, where spammers just repeatedly fire in a straight line then accuse me of HAAAX when I walk up and slap them, because they were too busy spamming to actually think.

While, as a bomber, I find the Polaris itself annoying (STUPID SHOCK RUINING EVERYTHING AAARGH), I don't think that justifies calling the player a noob. Swordsmen (some of them, anyway) did the same thing when they were killed by Sun Shards, or by the Hammer, Autoguns, or Dark Ret in the (absolutely wonderful) period without invincibility frames. (Granted, some of the latter had good points involving the Guardian Shield, invinci-frames and hit-stun, but some were just plain whiny.)
Spamming is, indeed, a legit tactic when done skillfully (in LD, anyway, don't push that Quicksilver towards me! I hate being Shocked!), and what else can you do with a Bomb? Switching between two different bombs quickly, like alternating Stun and Shock, is tricky to pull off for an extended amount of time. And you wouldn't call someone unskilled who gets kills with Nitro or DBB, would you? As for "spamming" of certain weapons, simply clicking Polaris repeatedly and not aiming well will get you outgunned by that guy with the Storm Driver, while skillful use will hold back even three foes! Similarly, the hammer makes an easy target when used recklessly, but with proper use, can catch that Polaris wielder off guard.
As far as responding to morons goes, I'd advise you just ignore them. Quickly add 'em to the Ignore List while you're dead and never hear their crap again.
