As the title goes, I was thinking the Spiral Knights admin can host competitions once in awhile. Participants are able to win attractive rewards, or probably limited edition things (if that's possible, I guess, though I figured it might actually ruin the economy).

Probably some competition ideas:
- Weapon/Armor design competitions (Winners can have their designs uploaded into the game etc)
- Fan Art competition that revolves around a specific theme

Well, the benefits of these competitions are as follow:

- Competitions would definitely attract more users to the game, or increase knowledge about this
- This game would be a more user-operated game, such as the weapon designing competition etc.
- There would be more active participation of users, which indirectly increases game popularity

Personally, I feel that Spiral Knights is a game that has really many prospects. I have joined about 3-4 days ago, and wow am I already addicted! I absolutely love the graphics, and the concept of the game, and especially the interface! This game is practically what I've been looking out for, and well, it definitely was worth a try :) Anyway, I hope that my suggestion would be placed into consideration, and I really love this game! ^.^

There was once an avatar art contest that incorporated new avatars into the game, such as the one I'm currently using.
The closest thing we've recently had was the 'guild crest' competition that resulted in several people winning elevator passes and assorted monster pocket types. We could do with such things more frequently, though.

Also, a few tips: often there will be people who have thought of a similar idea, so it may help you to look at the responses their thread got (you can find this by using the search bar). People in suggestions also like details, so don't be afraid to post lots of them - it's better that we know what you're intending as the idea, rather than getting the wrong end of the stick. Oh yeah, and there are certain taboo subjects, namely pets and healing weapons. (And CE price complaints, too.)

Yes, that is what might happen with suggested equipment in this section. They may not throw a party for whoever came up with it, but our goal is to contribute to the game, not be glorified. Our glory is having out ideas implemented.

They technically do use stuff in this section. The problem is getting them to tell us what they plan to use. The reason this is not very well known is because not many people of our community go on the forums and Three Rings likes to leave us in the dark when it comes to upcoming updates. We know they read our threads for better or worse, but they almost never respond to a thread for the sake of responding to a thread. They usually just tell us to stop screaming so loud or to not use fowl language. Because ducks talk nasty.

There are player run competitions over here.

I am now going to throw overly fluffy sheep into puddles of mud, then punch them with fire.
