Beasts and Fiends are weak to Pierce.
Constructs and Undead anre weak to Elemental.

So a silver-six should be awsome against these two groups right..
Well.. I got myself one, but I still find my Master Blaster to be better than the Silver-six..

Should this really be?

Master Blaster is straight up

Master Blaster is straight up Normal damage, so it does not have to go through damage resistant calculations for any type of mob.

Beast is weak to Pierce, but strong against Elemental.
Construct is weak to Elemental, but strong against Pierce.
If resistant and weak are balanced, the two would cancel and be just a normal attack. I suspect resistance counts for more than weakness, however.

Fiend is weak to Pierce.
Undead is weak to Elemental.
Silversix should be strictly better than Master Blaster here.

Three reasons: 1)

Three reasons:
1) Preference
2) Clip Size means less damage per shot.
3) Split Damage means split resistances.

In other words:
1) You just like the feeling of Normal damage. I don't blame you, I do too.
2) Antigua lines are balanced around doing less damage per shot because they have a 6-shot clip.
3) Split damage means that the only times you do better damage are when they're both weak to Elemental AND not resistant to Piercing (or vice versa). In two out of six cases, they are weak to one but strong to the other, which ends up evening things out (if not hurting you slightly!; I don't remember if resistance has a larger influence than weakness).

The end result is that the Silversix (and the Sentenza) don't really shine in any situation. They're no better than a 6-shot Blaster with a quick reload and a severe weakness to two enemies. It's not terrible; it has a good charge shot after Antigua, and it's unique with its faster bullets, but it still leaves a little to be desired.

Enemy resistance greatly

Enemy resistance greatly reduces damage taken and overshadows any enemy vulnerabilities by a decent margin.

Just an example:
Constructs are weak to Elemental but strong to Piercing.
My weapon does half Elemental (50 damage) half Piercing (50 damage) for a total of 100 damage.

Your Elemental would probably get around 15 bonus damage vs the Construct but your Piercing would lose around 40 damage.
So you have a net loss of 25 damage in this example.

Overall it's not actually that bad, it just redistributes the mobs the weapon is effective against and normalises the damage bonus / reduction from its dual damage nature. Do note, however, that Normal damage type + special damage type is superior to special + special because there are less mob types you have to pay the large resistance penalty for.

I have a question about the Antigua six-shooter line. Does it track how many bullets you've fired and force a reload after six shots, or does it follow the same method as other guns used for kiting, in that you can shoot-step shoot-step and never incur the reload penalty? My preference has always been shoot-step because it allows you to put up your shield if something inconvenient happens (shoot-shoot-reload leaves you completely open during the reload, aside from your movement)

Or should I not even consider the Antigua line for kiting in the first place?

@pringerX
You can skip the last shot if you want, but the reload speed is shorter than the time it takes to skip the last shot and wait. In other words, it's not quite worth it like it is for the Blaster (unless, perhaps, you have enough IAS to make it worth it).

Argent Peacemaker has exactly

Argent Peacemaker has exactly one value, and that's undead. If you're not doing Firestorm Citadel, the weapon is inferior in every way to pretty much every other gun.

As soon as you set foot in the Citadel, however, it's the big man on campus and cannot be beaten in DPS by anything else but a Volcanic Pepperbox, which would just be silly to use in FSC.

You can skip the sixth shot, and if you're kiting you probably should since unlike alchemers you can't move while reloading. I'm primarily a sword user, and any time that I NEEDED to pull out my gun, say in a gremlin challenge room, an antigua performed better than an alchemer because you can actually hit the enemies. It's also a much better line of guns to use when you're dealing with bats.

Also, antiguas are fun because you can bust open crystals and boxes like nobody's business. :o
