Hey, it happens. occasionally you need a GM's help. This thread here is to say thank you to those kind people who helped you.

The first thank you i have is for Hyperion, I was stuck talking to the sprite in FSC before the change and where he was by all the slags. although my group managed to find a solution before he arrived (which was quite timely), he still took the time to make sure everything was okay.

The next one is for Coriolis. Thanks for helping my friend Engravement get to the santuary. although he didn't get the material from the santuary, i managed to get one to give to him. the important part is he got the artifact and that he was able to craft his heavenly iron armor. And don't worry about the material, i gave him a maidens tear so it's all good. Thanks for helping us out. Have a nice day!

(engravement gave me approval to post this.)

for all you forumers, list your stories here and say thanks to the people who make SK a game worth playing.

My Robotic(?) Heart to GM Coriolis

I have unpredictable internet disconnection issues, so Shadow Lair Runs are particularly worrying as I fear when I disconnect, I may not return to my team. Unfortunately so, it did happen for my first two runs ever done: Shadow IMF and FSC. Luckily, GM Coriolis was able to send me back into the runs quite timely and was able to give witty comments of me carcass upon arrival. Though Coriolis apologized for being unable to get me a Maiden's Tear for the FSC run, Bella-Donna gave me one anyhow.

Regardless, I am very thankful for GM Coriolis for their work on both of my inconvenient happenings.
My heart to you, Coriolis. May fortune be with you.

Gah, I can't remember this

Gah, I can't remember this GM's name. He had plain cobalt style armor without the additional armor on the arm, and a plate helm with the vertical holes for the eyes and the spike on top.

Anyway, I was in FSC and I tried to put one of the rabbit babys down on a ledge so I could kill a trojan. Amazingly, my character threw it like a vial off the edge of the map. I then had to tell my freinds I threw one of the babys off the edge, and we eventualy called in the GM to come give us another one. He ridiculed me for my poor parenting skills, handed the new rabbit to my freind, and vanished.

I second the OP.

I do have a few experiences where I can say with confidence that the GMs and the support team as a whole really do a good job. I had a situation recently regarding a rare drop, and without getting into too much detail ( I don't know if I have clearance to discuss the details that is) I can say that I was well taken care of by the support team.

Many thanks to them indeed, Coriolis in particular.

I remember the time I hit two switches at once with the old RSS, and the gate didn't drop.

Actually, it happened twice (once in OCH and once in Hazardous Heist; those Gremlins need to fix those switches!) Both times, Atalanta was quick to help.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Once, using an alt (named Satern-Man), I hit a party pad and for some reason the gates didn't change. I called a GM and eventually one came. (I forget his/her name, though. Sorry! D: I think it was a she... EDIT: actually I think it was Atalanta.) Anyway, she told me actually the elevator was on the side I had access to. This was actually the wierdest thing that has ever happened to me in the game. I'm certain that I had hit the party pad and the gate didn't come down because all the enemies in the rooms didn't have any enemies. The GM was nice about it anyway, and said it had happened to her before also.

I have three different ideas of what happened:

  • The gate did go down and I just was stupid and didn't notice. The GM killed all the enemies as she went along.
  • The gate didn't go down and the lift actually was on my side.
  • The gate didn't go down and the lift was not on my side. If that was the case then the GM had made the lift appear. :P

There are two, no three other times the GMs have helped me:

  • I was doing OCH and I came to the area right after the boss that normally has the rare material. I was all like "Wait, where is my mask frag?" I called for help, and waited for a half hour or so. (Yes they must have been busy) To my embarrassment, there had been a recent patch that had included a level called "Aftermath", and the mask frag was moved to it. I had completely forgotten this! XD This was one of the few times I had a true PICNIC error. (PICNIC means "Problem In Chair, Not In Computer")
  • In heart of ice, we were just on the first level. One of the fights had silkwings in it. After killing all the enemies in the wave, the next wave didn't spawn/the gate didn't go down. We weren't sure what the problem was until one of us looked up on top of a building. What did we see? A silkwing was flying up atop of it! I sent in a support request and Chronus came in. He said something about it was too scared to heal things and ran away. XD It took a crowbar whack and then the gate, as well as the runaway critter, both fell.
  • Last, but I think the most important to me, the CradleBound fan game request. This isn't a case of meeting the GMs in game, but I still should say that if it weren't for that we couldn't make our fan game! Thank you, Cronus! :D

Nice thread! Inb4 a game master will post here.

How do you summon a GM? I

How do you summon a GM? I have been in parties several times that hit some game error or glitch that ruined the mission, and everyone just bailed....

You have to make a deal with the devil and pay with blood from a goa-

Oh, never mind. I was thinking of something completely different.

Try through this by opening a browser or headbutt F2 while in the game and make your note in a bottle. Fortunately you only need to throw it in a swimming pool and should be answered quickly.

Don't use F2 to try and

Don't use F2 to try and summon a GM. It clearly says that GM's don't answer bug reports, use the in-game request system if you need help.

As for the in-game request system; try pressing F1 or clicking on that ? icon in the top left.

There was this time against a couple pods, they used an attack where they pushed enemies away and healed themselves a little. I was between the pod and the edge of the floor, but there was no wall to my back. When it pushed I was bumped off the floor and into the open space, though I was still standing on the same surface in terms of height, so I could still kill it. When the fight was over, though it was nearly over before I was bumped off anyway (nothing could hit me while floating), I tried to get back on. Nurp. It was like trying to walk through a wall. I tried planting a bomb. The bomb itself was very clearly on a bottom floor, like a skybox, and it worked normally down there. Anything that used the floor as a surface, namely bombs in the scenario, used the skybox as its surface and behaved normally in spite of not being the same surface I was standing on (which was the same surface as the floor normally uses but not on the same surface you can walk around on).

Sent in a support request through mail, the response was to use F2 to send a report about what happened while I waited for someone to get me out of there. I think it was Poseidon who came to my rescue, I was teleported back onto the normal surface, and everyone lived happily ever after.

And now for something completely different.

I've been helped by many

I've been helped by many different GMs, but I would like to thank Coriolis for allowing me the honor of being slain by their Ban Stick in Sanctuary. :]
