Before I begin, I post this: http://i.imgur.com/nw7ty.jpg
Spiral Knights runs amazing with three screens. Very smooth and fluid. My only (tiny) problem is the distortion along the side screens.
It's not really that big of a problem, anyway. At the very least, I can see farther than the minimap and don't get surprised from the sides (which would happen frequently in lockdown). Now I can see the whole play field without the HUD in my way, which is nice. I can also look to the sides and see if any team mates in PvE need my assistance. The only thing that kills it is the distortion. If that could be sorted, I'd be grateful.
I like having three screens, but there are some problems.
First world problems.
Wow, I've gotta admit, that looks great. But your nose must be rubbing against those screens when you're not using joysticks to play games (that's just my guess in how you play cause it would be awfully uncomfortable to play with that keyboard on the desk, plus you have some joysticks laying around on the floor).
Yo dawg, we heard you like sk. So we put 2 more screens on yo comp so you can play sk and sk while you play sk!
Improper use of the meme, or at least not a good one, since he's using all three screens for a single instance of SK, not multiple instances.
"Bah! Humbug!!" said Draycos.
I understand, Shoebox. Honestly, it's not a big deal since I can compensate for the distortion that happens. It's there in TF2, too, so I'm slowly getting used to it. The good thing is that I can now see farther than the minimap displays.
As for being up close to the screens, my eyes are about 12-15 inches away from them when I scoot up. It's quite immersive, actually. Also, the thing lying on the ground is a gear stick for racing sims, as well as the wheel and pedals there in the picture. Heh. o.o
he spelled Vladimir the right way. unlike meh.....
anyway, split screen looks epic but almost uncomfortable.
is dungeon crawler even good with split screens?
Do I get to be introduced to the SK Spirits of Past/Present/Future, now?
First the SK Spirit of the Past will visit you and take you to the first level you were on.
@Vladmir: Going into PvE is incredible with three screens, especially after bezel correction (which can be mathematically calculated for perfect accuracy, I might add). I can stand in the center of most places in RJP and see just about the entire width of the map and most of the length of it on the side screens. It really is good for places where team mates might need help (shadow lairs!) and now I can't be surprised by polyps at the bottom right corner of my screen, since I can see farther right and down on the side screens.
I might add, I've thought about trying LD out with this setup to see how many recons I can anger with being able to see them before they cloak. XD

Wow... thats epic. You're like batman with his echolocation cell phone thing kind of.
Nice set-up you've got, but I don't think I could deal with that distortion myself. Plainly the camera angle wasn't meant to deal with stuff that far away from the player. I'm getting a headache just looking at that. >__>
Yeah the distortion is crazy, but I can mentally correct it and adjust. It's the same north/south view, so it's just extra left/right.
Now if you excuse me I'm gonna get a PC, eh make it 3
Get a chair that's so comfortable that you forget about the computer; problem solved
laptop y u no have three screens
(ノಥ益ಥ)ノ ︵ ┻━┻
Only thing I need to do now is get a good costume, then my SK experience will be complete. I need to finish this volcanic costume I'm working on. <.<
Do you think the distortion will decrease id i add resolution not just horizontally like thr OP bit also vertically? Like 30 inch 2560x1600 or more?
I think it's the way the game calculates your field of view and camera angle. The devs said that a player using a widescreen resolution wouldn't really have an advantage over a player using a standard resolution monitor due to the way the camera works.
So while you see extra stuff on your screen, you get the weird angled look of everything because of the field of view compensating so the camera doesn't zoom out.
If that makes sense.
