i find that its frustrateing to have to copy the names of stuff i want to buy from the wiki . the search in the auction house should be able to recognizes words that are slightly misspelled or similarly to a name . example searching nightblade as blackblade or darkblade would ask you to confirm if you want to go to night blade or if you spelled wolver like wolvar it would ask you to confirm to go to wolver kind of like google does .
smart search for auction house
p.s. i can't think of anything negative to this , but i suppose deprived trolls like you , YES YOU , would think of something nasty
"searching nightblade as blackblade or darkblade"
"spelled wolver like wolvar"
Or you could learn how to spell something with a static/never changing name if you want a specific search.
"like google does"
Google can afford to put lasers in your nostrils if they want. You can pay Three Rings to work on this feature because of your inability to spell if you want something so minuscule and insignificant.
"i can't think of anything negative to this"
Narcissism comes with ignorance.
"deprived trolls like you"
You are the troll here; no, not even. To call you a troll would be an insult to actual trolls. Maybe you can be the pet rat of a troll.
Spiral knights is a game for teens. If you can't spell, then your not a teen. Teens know how to spell by now. We can't just put a system to help "Under-aged" people spell.
I was so hopeful when I read the topic. "Smart search? Ooh, like search by UV type or strength? YES." But no, it was AH spellcheck.
No. No. No.
That, I agree. Having a new UV search bar and put like "Attack speed", then it shows a huge list of stuff with a UV like that. If you are in the swords category, then you will only see swords with that UV
"Spiral knights is a game for teens. If you can't spell, then your not a teen. Teens know how to spell by now. We can't just put a system to help "Under-aged" people spell."
Sorry to burst your bubble, but as someone who deals with teenagers almost every day, I can tell you with complete certainty that many teens cannot spell.
It's not like the game uses weird or complicated names.
Also one thing is confusing "wolvar" with wolver, but... "blackblade" over nightblade? thats too silly.
We have no clue what they are saying. Kids under 13 use bad grammar. If teens can't use good grammar, then they should improve their English and grammar as I won't have 1 clue what they are saying.
searching nightblade as blackblade or darkblade would ask you to confirm if you want to go to night blade or if you spelled wolver like wolvar it would ask you to confirm to go to wolver kind of like google does .
No way, how would black blade be related to nightblade? Because it has the word "Blade"? No, that ain't going to work. No, you should be able to spell Wolver easily. The search bar is useful. You have to type maybe over 3 or 4 letters. So if you can't spell wolver and end up spelling it like "Wolvar", then just say "Wolv" and it will come up with wolver coats. Just put the first 4 letters. Problem solved
I kind of agree with him. I can spell but it sometimes gets annoying when i go to search for a mat and I accidentally add an s at the end and nothing comes up. I don't know what is so bad about this idea. Especially the new players who know nothing about the game don't know all the names of the gear. So I can understand if he put blackblade or darkblade or spelled wolver like wolvar. Maybe he is just a new player. So guy chill out with all your negative comments and actually TRY TO UNDERSTAND HIS POINT OF VIEW.
I was in his postiton. There are somethings that you can look up.
Not that hard.
Or even use part of it name.
So like "Blade" and there is levi and Nightblade.
And then there is the fact that you can ask around in Haven.
Nightblade as "darkblade"
This example is perfect: We already have a sword called Dark Thorn Blade.
And we also have Leviathan Blade, Scissor blades, Wild Hunting Blade, etc
Or the game could get it wrong and dispaly results with "dark" - Dark shards, darkfang shield, etc
We're not talking about a missplaced letter here. The game cant read your mind.
Unless you change the plans. Why don't you create a system where you can put any part of the name? The search bar only knows what you want if your typing the first part of the name or full name. If nobody knows the first part, but knows the last part, they can put "Blade" and lots of things will pop up
That already works. You can even search something like "igh" and you'll get Light Shards, Blighted Bones, Nightblades, etc.
Thanks! We should also have UV searching and another UV search bar.
I find it's frustrating when people can't spell well enough to look for things.
As Little Juances has stated, the game is not psychic, and does not have a thesaurus to look up a bajillion different synonyms for what you actually typed in, or an autocorrect feature. We don't need this function.
the balance of the game rest with your suggestion!
oh no! where all gonna die! *facepalm
We dont need this function, but it would be useful.
p.s. i know adult nerds who cant type :o...."Get a job hippie!"
that would be good too though i don't really care about UV cause they're not a big helper , unless they're on high to max , in which case you can just search for the most expensive gear to get them
i actually spelled darkblade instead of nightblade , that's why i'm suggesting it in the first place

to that i say why don't three rings link themselves to google (so they don't need any money to programme a spellcheck) , like the billions of websites and mod that already do http://www.google.com/cse/
After reading post #23 i dont know whetever to laugh or to shoot myself.
I did both.
I was already in hell so nothing really changed.
Even though we all know Aotr is our new Blandaxt, probably another one of his alternates or one of countless similar, I may as well give some form of response while holding my pinkies up my nostrils and tying my shoes with my belly button.
"to that i say why don't three rings link themselves to google"
Okay. Say, hypothetically, Three Rings sold out Spiral Knights to Google. Here are a few changes that would be made within days:
- Google advertisements on everything which involves opening a window (open your inventory, ad pops up; etc.)
- Auction is taken out, replaced with redirecting you to a Google search for threads on the forum
- Auction and merchant preview option is replaced by redirecting you to open Google to search for the item, not showing how it would actually look on your knight
- Cutscenes replaced by redirecting you to a Youtube video of it
- Mail system removed and replaced with Gmail
- 5* equipment is now only craftable if you have made a purchase of at least $10 within the past ten days
- No more updates on anything ever again (no guild hall update, no balance, no bugfixes, etc.)
- Your login username is now your knight name
- The HUD changes every couple months to be completely reorganized as well as your hotkeys (shielding goes from X to shift, attacking foes from right click/Z to L, etc.; your minimap goes to the bottom left corner, your energy meter becomes vertical instead of horizontal on the top left corner, etc.)
Welcome to your new Spiral Knights. Just for you.
Oh hey, it's this thread again.
Technology, acting smart so you don't have to.
that's the point of technology is it not ? technology is meant to help you and make you lazy . like before you had to go to a libary with its outdated information to study anything new or talk to a teacher but now days everyone uses the internet . it's just one of the side effects of technology, humans trying to make their lives easier but ends up making it more complex then it needs to be .
maybe you should do more research before saying that , and of course i doubt your brain would understand as giving hard facts to a person who's convinced about their point of view won't change (as recent studies show) . so i'll have to keep this up for quite a while(which i don't hink i going to be bothered to) or agree with you before you some what support me.
I'm laughing so hard.
@Aotr
You are very disgusting.
"technology is meant to help you and make you lazy"
Okay.
Enjoy your hive mind society where technology is all that matters and human life is expendable to the point that your death would not so much as discomfort anyone. You will not be missed.
" before you had to go to a libary with its outdated information to study anything new or talk to a teacher"
Want to know what both of those have that technology will never have? Solidity. They exist in tangible form. What happens if the power goes out or whatever website/database is down? You die? You seem so keen on technological indulgence. You can stay in that pseudo-reality.
"humans trying to make their lives easier but ends up making it more complex then it needs to be"
Actually, the problem is humanity becoming so reliant on the convenience of technology that we lose the abilities we once relied on. See your comparison with the library and teachers.
"i doubt your brain would understand as giving hard facts to a person who's convinced about their point of view won't change (as recent studies show) "
Recent studies.
What were you studying? The inside if your belly button?
"so i'll have to keep this up for quite a while(which i don't hink i going to be bothered to)"
You plan to be persistent but give up when you get bored.
Consistent.
"or agree with you before you some what support me"
You know, this reminds me of a phrase believed to have been created by John Wesley; a preacher and theologian. That means he does religion and religion accessories, I tell you what. Want to know what all that religion involved? Books and teachers. The things you insulted not too long ago. Want to know what he said? "Let us agree to disagree". Want to know what that means for us? It means you can live with your iPhones 6934353+ over there, and the people who are against humanity regressing into quivering blobs can be wherever we are.
Who would keep the progress of technology if everyone followed that "lazy" logic?
Everything has a limit.
Want an example? we already developed wheelchairs and elevators, why dont we all cut our legs then?
Never mind, the only threat is headpumpkin zombies.
Wait, that would be worse.
why not catergorize the searche where the user can choose the star level of one specifi equipment that way the use wont have to start from 5 star and go down or from 1 star then go up. if this cannot be implemented, at least have a way for us t skip pages, cause filing through a laggy sk when using the action takes a while.
You should be able to spell. Asking the game to spell for you is just ridiculous. If you're looking for a blackblade rather than a nightblade, maybe you should go play Parabola Warriors instead of Spiral Knights.
