Wanting to pay boatloads for a Darkfang Shield because of its stupidly high rarity is one thing. And its at least remotely useful if you were to SOMEHOW have nothing else.
But that much for a dinky gun that someone managed to derp and obtain by some crazy means? (Even though that price is nothing compared to a Darkfang)

A little while after release, the recruit camp used to have a vendor that sold proto guns, swords, and bombs. And Ricasso used to sell proto guns as well. I guess OOO decided there was no point in having them there since everybody already had them(except proto bombs, you would have to buy them).

I don't think any of the haven NPCs ever sold proto guns. I specifically remember buying a couple from the rescue camp when I realized you couldn't get them in haven. Too bad I vendored all but two when nobody would buy them. But now I see that I could have sold each one for 46k +!

This used to be my "Project Easy Money no. 69"
Buying proto swords from NPC (bazaar) - 150cr -----> selling them on AH for 2k cr (they usually sell) -----> 1650cr (profit)
Time wasted: 30 seconds (loading: bazaar-haven)
Failures in business negotiations: 0 (NPC sucks at negotiating).
Because of the fact that I posted it here, this method no longer works xD

Yes but not proto gun. There was a guy in rescue camp who was selling some one star and zero star guns including proto gun that no longer exists. Some people bought and kept them and ta daaa: proto gun on sale.

Well you pay a fortune for a DFS because it's rare, because you can't get it anywhere. A proto weapon that's unbound is arguably as rare as a DFS, so why should it be worth any less just because its stats aren't as high?
