I've been waiting for like a whole month just for it, and yet you don't announce when your finished? I thought by the time you would announce that you would test the guild hall feature because at this time, I'm thinking that your finished but need some testing. Any estimated time?
Excuse me, when will the guild hall updates come?
@Trabias I've seen some stirrings in the Half Life community lately. Black Mesa was released, Escape from City 17 part Two was released.... IT'S A SIGN!!!!
All joking aside, I would also like to know the answer to this question
@knightofcoolness It's only too many if they stop being relevant and/or informative. So far, he hasn't reached that point
OOO needed to
- Program all the new guild mechanics
- Program all the unique features to be provided in the new guild halls
- Design the organization and layout of the guild halls
- Decide what decorative items they want to use
- Create something like a hundred new models for all of the new assets
- Skin those models
- Create the Garrison
- Design the Bajillion new UIs for all the new things
- and some other stuff
all alongside some other things like the Dark Festival and fixing the Stun Bug.
I'm not saying it's easy, or that it should be fast, I'm just wondering about a rough ETA. (And yes, I know giving that information is highly unusual)
Dukeplatypus even left out a few... they've got to worry about the "dark harvest" event regarding Halloween as well as fix things like stun/iron slug and conceptualize everything. This is far bigger than most other updates that they come out with. Give them some time; judge them after they've released it and reward them as you see fit with your wallet and time.
There's lot of anticipation for both halloween and guild halls.
Maybe they dont want one to overshadow the other.
I prefer they work so well on this update than give us a rush worked content that would be another dissapointment and i dont mind how much they will take with it. also i prefer to keep low expectative on this update so i dont going to feel dissapointed because this like the "awesome" anniversary update we got on April..
The guild hall is a project that will take alot of time? I don't want to whine or be pushy, but I think OOO should split the team. One should be doing guild halls and one should do the dark festival (Can someone tell me what the dark festival is? I just joined this year
Hidden option: get more people working on the game so stuff gets done faster.
i believe OOO also works on another game, a DrWho game. so there should be alot of teams, if not, this explains their unprofessional vibe.
Dark Harvest Festival was, when players would dwell into the clockworks, finding extra rooms wich would have a terrible designed evil pumpkin, called Punkin King. You defeat him, or get lucky, and get some tokens which you trade for costumes. oh yea, everything was Halloween themed. maybe a little overrated.
Maybe I've been missing the droves of similar people, but you have to be the first person I've seen actually complaining about the Dark Harvest Festival. The Pumpkin King was terribly designed? Really? I personally loved chasing a bouncing head around a room trying to bust it open for candy. It gave me a new reason to consistently play the game again due to the limited-time nature of it. It was also fun doing it with friends and splitting up before fighting him to maximize our candy-get. Not to mention the fact that now with the missions out, it gives people a reason to go back to the Clockworks hunting for stuff. So what if it was just cosmetic? Was it not fun for you? At all? If not, I feel sorry for you. Actually, no. I feel sorry for anyone who tries to give you a fun experience.
I hope they release it at the same time as dark harvest. A double dose of awesome, kind of like when they released shadow lairs with dark harvest last year. Except shadow lairs weren't that awesome now that I think about it...
Anyway, hope for this Wednesday, otherwise, 7-8 months or whenever the stun bug gets fixed.
wait a minute bro.
i do love going into the clockworks old school. i had a buttload of fun with my old guild trying to find his little nest.
i have no idea how you got "I HATE DHF" from my post, when i just said Punkin King could use some editing. When you tell someone of a new thing, you keep it as real as possible, not ,"I love this i love this I LOVE THIS! you should too." example time! Anniversary. I thought that was the best thing, defeating Creep Cakes and havig free rides all day. Now that i look back, it was overrated.
Everybody gave the Benightz the half full glass experience, im just giving him the other side.
@Benightz: Work is still in progress on the Guild Hall features. I promise you, it's not secretly finished in gleaming perfection somewhere, and we're just sitting on it to watch everyone squirm. I don't have a release date to give out just yet, so please hang tight. Guild halls will get here. :)
This update is approaching - or has it already approached? - Duke Nukem Forever magnitudes of Hype!
May [Insert name of deity here] have mercy on all of us.
I must have misunderstood you, then. Looking back you think it was overrated? Perhaps. But if you had fun at the time, what's wrong with that? There are really very few things anywhere that couldn't be better, but I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with "good enough" so long as it's no worse than that. I apologize for the misunderstanding. After rereading my post I realize that I came across much more aggressively than intended. I guess it just annoys me when it seems people are unanimously calling for something and then whenever they get what they want someone just has to go, "Meh. Could've been better." And yes, I realize now that that's not what you were doing.
Lol... I really wouldn't blame you for sitting on it to watch players squirm.
:O whoa....you surprised me brah.
I was expecting a flame war to happen, was a little worried that my own reply comment came out a little strong and that you were gonna post some evil back lash post to start the flaming.
you were seriously "Being the bigger man" nice to know there some decent ppl still left.
my respect just increased ten folds. you have just went to the slot number 2 on awesome-forum-users-i-sorta-mainstream-know list. dont worry,
your wont be on the users-that-sorta-seem-mean-like-Luguiri List.
Canine....does that mean you aren't...*sniff* counting me? :'(
I try to be nice and all, not lashing back....
*Cheers up* Oh well. Either you haven't noticed me yet or I need to try harder!
As a long time supporter of Three Rings products, I have to say, I'm about at my end here.
I spent a good 8 years on Puzzle Pirates but find the downfalls are repeating here.
If a gaming company is going to produce a game where the content is incomplete and (rumoured to be) perpetually evolving, we (as investors - be it time and/or real money) need to see content evolve as well.
The new Danger Missions are great, but as elective content, they are quick to master and grow tired of.
As a player, I'm totally exhausted with the carrot-dangling technique, littered with re-skinned promotional items. As a pay to play player, I've bought into this on a few occasions, but it doesn't take the place of long term game play commitment.
Guildhall improvements are forthcoming, apparently. I'm also looking forward to the Halloween content.
I'm not sure it's enough to maintain my interest through even the next 2 months.
Got anything else up the sleevies?
Manta (who is looking for the reason to keep playing)
Edit for better grammar and punctuation.
Maybe they have a bunny in there.
I know I would.
Personally, I would be satisfied with a balance overhaul before even one more cosmetic promo or new mission to play with even if it took a couple months. Their "balance" team may not want to make the game fair, but a lot of us players do. Balanced equipment means promoting equipment versatility, meaning more equipment is being crafted, meaning more energy is consumed and Three Rings gets from everyone who goes to craft the newly rebalanced equipment, breaking the clone factory while creating "new" content so players have something to do over time instead of a mission or cosmetic toy for a couple days.
And now for something completely different.
@Luigi
Although I'm certain you find it sly of yourself to leave such hidden intentions and rhetorical vices within the smaller parts of your work, the rest of us would appreciate a larger target for our mice, or perhaps a more contextual route to your ideals.
hi L:, P.s u make 2 many forum posts
