Clearance

For people who don't know and are wasting cr join or starting a high tier for pk in gates you have to pay cr if you want to join a higher tier gate if you have not gotten clearance.
To get clearance you go from the previous tier and go to the next tier start, does not matter where you start just previous tier to the next one. Can start from 0 or join somebody at gate for 7(17 for tier 3) and go to 8(18) and get clearance(does not matter what depth you join what matters is the tier change).
Not for everybody, guildie did not know and had to tell them(blame missions).
THIS DOES NOT BELONG IN NEW RECRUITS. If people who are in tier 3 don't know this there is a problem.

I F2'd that just so devs can see that they left a very important part out of the interface. I wonder if they even remember their own game sometimes xD

I joined two weeks ago so I was unaware of this, and yeah, I've been pretty much doing missions all the time, it's good to know there's smth else to do tho, need to get clearance for every gate now! :D

I agree that many players do not know this. Missions have probably exacerbated the problem, but I observed the problem plenty of times before missions were introduced. A friend would ask me, "Why are you on Tier 2?" To get Tier 3 clearance. "You don't have Tier 3 clearance yet?!" A few tedious minutes later, my friend finally gets this basic rule, and I can get on with my life.
A knowledgeable, rational player may sometimes decide to pay the fee anyway, rather than slogging through Tier 2. It depends on various factors including elevator pass, friends at depth 16 or 17, time available, expected number of jumps to Tier 3 in the next few days, etc.

@Dead-Bard each gate is new even if they have the same name you will still have to get new clearance for it. so unless you plan to do a certain gate often it is a waste of ce and time to get clearance for each gate.
Yup. Although the gate people are using has a boss at 17 so you have to join at 16.
