Brandish line bug??

Im really curious about something.
The new brandish line is pretty great. Im currently trying out a Blazeband to compare it to my avenger to see which i like best however the more i use this sword the more im noticing something im starting to think is a bug. When you do your 3 strike, even starting the combo directly face to face to the monsters you'll notice sometimes the 2nd strike or 3rd strike will literally go through the monster.
You'll swing your sword and see it go through their model, yet no damage or anything. Is this a bug? I know the range on these swords is not the best, but its getting a little ridiculous when you can't even use its 3 strike combo and hit for all 3 hits probably like 25% of the time.

Are there others that are noticing this as well? Because its really making me dislike this sword quite a lot. I'd prefer my avenger regardless of its attack speed since i know it will actually hit its target, and not to mention knock them back 30' compared to this line which cannot knockback and apparently cannot even connect.

Edit: the only mob i've noticed it always 3 hit connect on is gunpups, since they can't move

This can be an issue with

This can be an issue with latency - it's also a feature that's seen often with 3-hit swords like the Calibur series.
Another theory is that there is slight knockback with every second hit, and that's what's pushing the monster out of your third hit.

Honestly though, the 3-hit swords are better off not completing their full combo (like most weapons) - the only time I see the third hit being extremely useful is in canceling an enemy's attack. For knockback/interrupts, look into a heavy sword like the Sealed Sword series or Troika series.

i knew i'd get a reply like

i knew i'd get a reply like that
first off it isn't latency - and i didn't notice this much if at all with calibur, and it could be the very SLIGHT knockback of the other hits, but again i can see my sword swing go through the mob and yet still no damage.

i also disagree with you, i want to finish my combo - in fact im TRYING to finish the combo, as in im swinging 3 times, and its only hitting twice, so because that last hit didn't take place or w/e it means I get hit which is not what i want obviously.
and yes i know about other swords knockback - it isn't like i just started playing this game today...this discussion is not about other swords knockback its about the fact the new brandish line swords do not always do damage even when you're face to face against the monster and swing right through it.

I have this issue too.

I'll use my Calibur and only hit twice, when a third hit would kill the thing. This is especially irritating with the zombies, because then they get a free hit on me.
The hit area on the third hit needs to be extended so that the third hit is viable outside of corners.

Marcusdranz: Does it not

Marcusdranz: Does it not occur to you that the way knockback on these weapons is handled may be intentional, for the sake of making it so the best option ISN'T always going to be running at the enemy and swinging at them wildly?

My profuse apologies for

My profuse apologies for being "like that".

It'd appear that what we have is a difference of playstyle - lately I've become accustomed with my sword's restrictions, and have changed how I play accordingly. I apologize if it appears that I was being condescending as if you were a new player and didn't understand the game's mechanics; I was merely providing feedback from my experience: that in cases where I would use a third strike, a shield push provides much the same results while defending myself from any further attacks. If I had committed to a third strike, I may kill the creature I was targeting or interrupt its attack, but then I'd have to stand defenseless for a short time open to other attacks.

Profuse apologies indeed. I hope you enjoy your more aggressive playstyle and that this bug gets fixed quickly so you can use it to its full potential.

Even if the third strike

Even if the third strike would work flawlessly, Dasparian has a good point about using 3-strike swords.

Other than that I've noticed with the Spiral gear you get at the start, which has a 3-strike sword, that most of the time I couldn't land all three hits. This was a major annoyance to me. I can't remember if it was always the third hit I was missing out on, but that was the one that annoyed me the most since indeed it's supposed to break your opponent's attack and save you from retaliation (in one-on-one at least). I'm staying away from Brandishes because of it, that sword looks a lot like the starter gear.

I've never had any trouble

I've never had any trouble landing all three hits with my Cautery Sword, and I tend to have fairly bad latency in this game for whatever reason.
