There is one enemy that is harder than any other normal mob. They are the inducers of rage and revive CE overspending everywhere. You know what I'm talking about, right?

Devilites.
They are the embodiment of overpowered enemies. They have no anticipation for their hits, their projectiles are unavoidable, and can take down most shields in a matter of 3 hits. They attack in groups, so you cannot block their attacks because they break your shield in a matter of seconds, and then kill you. If you wore full Divine set, with a Crest of Almire, you could not tone down how much damage they deal. Most of the attacks have a high chance of a status effect. Also, if you had a Final Flourish with Maximum! Attack Speed Increase, you could not finish your combo to stagger before they hit you and freeze, electricute, ignite, poison, or stun you with their attacks. Entire 4 party groups fall to those fiends because of these traits.

Trojans: Balanced. Silkwings: Balanced. Graviers: Only slightly unbalanced. Devilites: Unbelievably overpowered and broken. Don't even get me started on the upgraded ones with throwing halberds.

DEAR GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY, FIX THEM

(also if you could fix the Slag's jump attack that would be great plzthx)

Devilities are normal, everything else is easy.

Projectiles are avoidable, they travel in a straight line. If your shield breaks in 3 hits, you're using the wrong one. Get a Skelly or CoA for shadow protection. Mine takes at least 5 hits.
A regular flourish with no asi interrupts thier attacks or kills them in one combo, your final florusih with max asi must be broken :p
They have the same chance of status as any other enemy.
They attack in groups? so does every enemy in the game.
Divine Veil doesnt have normal defense, dont complain if they still kill you with it. Get skelly or shadowsun or snarby.

Avoidable?

They move so fast you are forced to block, unless they throw from a distance.
OK the status isn't really part of the point, it's the stun on normal ones that ticks me off.
They attack more in packs, where 3 at a time is almost instant death. Your shield goes down and you can't hit them because they are already throwing something else at you in less than a second. Not enough delay between attacks.
That brings up another points, the Final Flourish seems to make it really hard to hit enemies. You fly across the screen stabbing in small hitboxed attacks. Kind of hate it, I always miss enemies like that. Final Flourish doesn't have enough knockback for the attack's step forward to hit.

Devilites are 'overpowered' because they're amongst the only enemies in the game that make you think about what you're doing. They make you play defensively. People are too used to the game holding their hand and making it possible to dodge enemies by strafing a single tile to the side.

You can't dodge their projectiles at close range (2 tiles or closer), right. Run in when your shield at high health then run out after dealing some damage. If your shield breaks, don't even try to fight up close until it's back up.

They attack more often when you stop moving. Like with Trojans, stop for an instant then keep moving to trick them into attacking, then get a hit or two in while they're open. Occasionally, they will throw again right after their first throw, so don't get greedy. NEVER leave yourself open.

If you're using slow weapons, there's a high probability attacking with them will result in getting hit anyways.

If you have trouble with Flourish/Thorn Blade weapons... you should. I believe the original intent for those weapons was a skill-to-reward relationship... but auto-target nulls that. If you have too much trouble landing the attacks, you have two options- let the game aim for you, or don't use the full combo and stick to the first and second attacks, which have very little animation time with SCing. The first attack has a very wide arc, as well.

If you really want to whale on a Devilite without it attacking back, use a Cutter- typically, Devilites will flinch from any level of damage when they're trying to attack.

"Greavers: only slightly unbalanced"
You're not serious, are you? They're balanced, they just punish people who aren't paying attention.

"Fix slag jumping"
It's exactly how it SHOULD be; an easy to avoid attack that you can see coming a full second before that punishes more if you try to tank through it by shielding instead of running or taking the hit plain and simple.

In a sense, all you're asking for is the game to be even easier for you because you can't faceroll something like nigh every enemy in the game. What the heck is a 'challenge', anyways?

Polaris spam works well for groups of devilites. They dodge directly into the bullets.

Alright, alright

Thank you for the advice, Draycos. I always get crap thrown at me whilst running, but whatever. I guess I'lll be more careful with this in mind.

OK the Flourish is pretty hard to aim. I have auto-aim off so guns won't completely suck. If you try to combo with it you end up missing unless the enemy is cornered. For some reason, the FF combo makes it so you have too little slide collision (so the stabs seem to make you fly past enemies instead of stopping on them) instead of being able to hit enemies normally.

I don't like the Cutter line.

Sometimes you can't see the cloud of when they attack, it blends in and you get caught on fire or whatever.

Shielding the attacks are easy, but the fact that it can hit you mid-air is quite annoying. They changed it. It used to just be when it landed that it hit. Now he can hit mid-air, and the attack can hit you TWICE. I have talked to multiple people about this. It breaks old Slag killing strategies. It makes crowd control on Vanaduke a lot harder.

And don't tell me I don't like a challenge, I DO, but when difficulty spikes (around devilites), there is a problem.

I use a non-AT'd BTB quite often and I don't encounter the same problems.

If you don't like the Cutter line when it can help you out against the enemies you have trouble with, it's not exactly a problem on the game's end.

While there is a little delay before the mist is clearly visible in the beginning, it's easy to tell when a Greaver has and hasn't attacked.

Skelly jumps hitting you twice if you're a sitting duck is a good thing. Making CC in Vanaduke harder is a good thing. A very good thing. It's a good thing that the game is even remotely challenging where it should be.

Difficulty spikes are a problem? Then what's the complete lack of thought required for the rest of the game? Is that not a problem?

Maybe spikes are problematic. Maybe. But this game NEEDS more difficulty, so you can't just left click in the general direction of the enemy and move to the side a bit when you see flashy things on the ground and still win

If you played before the tracking nerf, you should know what I mean when I claim this game is too easy.

Good experiane with guns

I have to say that i HATE devilites but they are not unbeatable, even if you are alone.

If you are not so far in game, that you cant use a polaris , you can try out a simple blaster. I've made it through a devilite mission (2 layers) with a blaster, and i was alone!

This is also not trivial, because devilites can dodge bullets.

but there are some tricks, so that gunners also can handle, them.

If there is enough space space. try going backward and shoot at them. some tried to follow you, and you have seperated them. (if they are alone they are much easiser. Flourisch works great if if you have seperated them.)
Their shot have a limited range and sometiemes i got out of range and "evaded" a hit this way. Auto aim is helpfully beacuse your shot travel long distances. Alos increasing the shot distance while they are charging thei attack makes it much easier to doge.
Devilites can't doge, if they are charging an attack, (If you hit them while ccarging they are attack, you interrupt their attack. But this is a very dangerous strategy. )or if they move toward you(your change to hit them with a blaster.).

If there are some silkwings with them, you can also lure them out, and kill them with the blaster.(The follow the wounded devilites.)

It is also important, to move with the WASD key and to aim with mouse.
Also use the Anti-reload-trick, if you empty your gun magazine, your charackter has to reload ist gun, and cant shield or move fast, during reload. That is a good change for the devilites to kill you!, so only use one shot less than your magazine has, run away and then reattack.

If you dont have enough space, try circeling around the traps, and Dont let them take you into crossfire, because then you will die! Ist hard to see all that shot from different directions, and to reract to all of them.

(I have heard, that bombs should also work great against them, just place one and lure them in.)
I also tried out meelee weapons but, i had seroius problem with them.

One last important tip: Read the Wiki. the killing order is important!,
First kill the ones which attack you. (Dont try to prevent the boss from transformiung workers. there is a 50/50 change that they will become an dangerous "overtimer"(burning eyes) or a harmless "yesman"(small and green.) . If you try, you end up in the middle of the devilite group => crossfire=> dead! )
second : kill the "yesman", the small greens!(DONT KILL A BOSS, otherwise all workers (including the yesman will become overtimers!))
third : now the bosses become norma workers too, get rid of them!
