that links is so damm scary!!
Its the last thing i would expect!
Posting links to things that contain excessive flashing images without a warning for people with forms of epilepsy is really insensitive as well as extremely dangerous. Not to mention that startling screamers can effect people with heart conditions, and have been known to trigger certain kinds of ptsd.
Screamers aren't 'scary', there's no long-term sense of unsettlment or spookiness like a good story or ominous picture provide; they're a brief and startling jump scare that at best is entertaining for all of the two seconds it lasts, and worst actually inflicts serious harm on people -the risk of which is greatly increased when you decided to link them with no context or warning.
Point being don't post this sort of stuff if you have no intention of taking the appropriate precautions and actually labelling the content you're linking.
was a while since ive been scared like that
this was funny
Taking heed to the above comments, I decided to mute the sound for this......
@Echoez~ And yes, I'm now suffering from that long-term feeling of unsettlement..... ;-D
I almost had a heart attack.
why didn't I read the whole thread before clicking the link?
Just to let you know, that site also hosts an image board for hentai and pr0n...
in my house alone
lights off, computer at max brightness
volume on without knowing
slightly drunk
recently finished extensive cardiovascular exercises
read the warning about flashing images while it was loading
BAM!!!
heart attack nearly happened :l
Whoa, I was scared the heck out of. My god, do not hit that link with your volume turned up o.o Its bad enough with its effects. Should of read Post #1 first :|
RIP headphone users.
Also, I cried.
now if you excuse me i'm gonna find some rope
God I feel old - I remember back when that pic was used everywhere, in every creepy-pasta thread.
The sudden blast of sound and flashing lights surprised me, but the pic itself isn't that scary. I think I've read the original creepypasta for Jeff the killer enough to be bored with it.
Enjoy!

Why did I click it... WHY...
My speaker volume is set pretty high too. I almost had a fit regardless of the flashing. T_T
Gah, I almost jumped out of my headphones! That's what I get for being lazy about setting up click-to-play, but Imma still grumble about how stoopid it is that it isn't the default behaviour and how auto-play sound deserves content warning if flashing lights does. /e cough Also, you might want to mention that we should shift focus to the linked page immediately for full effect since I assume most of us have opened links wait patiently for us to tab over to them.
I feel old for remembering when every other board's FAQ/readme/whatever included "Don't click the links." The content warning made me think of this. (epilepsy safe but possibly disturbing imagery)
LOL Scared the sh out of me. Luckily i did not have my headphones on my ears or my ears might not be working right now. It did not help that I'm the only one up at 2 in the house with no sound around me at all.
Screamers aren't 'scary'
That particular screamer up there scares me ****less, even if I mute the volume first. It's that thing's EYES that make it so bad for me.
[What I linked] is an image of flashing. Er, not the kind that needs hazardous animation to depict, but the kind that could be NSFW to depict. (The image I linked is not, though it is graphically explicit. I know it sounds improbable.) I hope that helps. Oh, I know! Do you like fruit?
[edited for my stoopidity]
I muted sound and opened it to see what Heimdallr was talking about (The first time, I reflexively closed the tab before I could switch to it.) and would like to know whether Mr. Grey in the movie adaptation of Dreamcatcher hits the same buttons.
Some people enjoy this sort of thing. I do not. I usually mute the sound and it I see a still image, I take a screenshot, as even still images can be "animated". If I fail to see anything "scary" I realize that the point was to make something jump out and scare you.
Darkcub already scared the crap out of me with it in game, saying it was 'a new boss', and giving the link.
I tried it out, and WOW!
Doesn't really work twice, that and I was prepared with muting my computer before it ;)
i'll watch some tv
Son of a...
Even after knowing it was Jeff the Killer pic full size with a jumpscare and zooming out in my browser window as a precaution with 100% no sound, it still got me!
Dang... Not even months of watching pewdiepie videos is enough.
That inverse color effect is what really jumps at you. The original pic on its own ist too scary.
Thank you though for nearly giving everyone a heart attack :D
Thanks to Soarel, I now have a growing collection of NSFW material to pass around to friends.
Let's all thank Soarel for giving us that bit of info.
Thanks to Soarel our lives are all better for him sharing that price of advice
DAW I REMEMBER THAT FROM LAST YEAR! (That was scaaaary. I was using an old browser, so things didn't animate like they did when I linked it to my brother. I didn't have the speakers on. Even still, I couldn't sleep for a week.)
@OP
Well, thank my speakers that the sound was off! Ugg.....
