You know, the Core terminal, right? one of the NPCs suggested that the Alpha Squad ENTERED the Core before it "closed". But, since its in the very middle of the planet, and they came to get a piece/the entire (of) the power source, and if its in the very middle of the planet, wouldn't they be reaped apart by the gravity? Just some weird thinking...
Theory about the Alpha Squad..
the gravity was so intense, they were propelled through a shoot and there actually stranded on the OTHER side of the planet.
There is Biomes.
Creatures are capable of the supernatural.
There is a symbiotic race wanting to take over.
There is a distortion(Sancturary) that deson't appear on maps. And has a enity there.
-_-
"one of the NPCs suggested"
It's an actual fact.

Anyways, who says they reached the actual center point of it. They could be hanging around it's surface, and we dont know how big it is or how many layers it has. Besides it's not a normal core.
They entered the core and got to meet the "Architect" (King Tinkinzar) who was now driven insane by his own creation ("The Swarm"). The Architect turned Alpha Squadron into his new personal vanguards and we will be fighting them in T4 by Year 2015.
Alpha Squadron, being corrupted by the Swarm, now possess unnatural strength. King Tinkinzar gave them each a set of his customized Shadow Lair armor in which the equipment would have all its strength and none of its weakness. (Almirian Crusader set is finally being useful!)
We will be fighting all 5 of them at once. Then they will combine to become Alphatron, which we will have to fight again!
They were kidnapped by the Core luring them in scared with the illusion the Entity creates that is the Swarm. The Entity uses their bodies as locks for the Core, using their Energy Tanks to avoid the influence of the Minerals on it.
Once we discover that the Core is playing with us to make us the next Architect species due to our superior technology, we will have to break in while trying not to kill the Alpha Squad. Cue Tier 4 in the "Shell of the Core" and four new dungeons for the Alpha Squad members minus Euclid. OOO decides to kill or liberate them, but we break the fifth lock that opens up finally the Inner Core and fight and subdue the Entity there and... maybe we will finally get out of Cradle, and maybe it will collapse on itself.
The core is the being speaking in the echo stones and it's creator is Tinkinzar. Seeing "the architect" go mad, the core needed some kind of protection. "I see your legion, falling like a burning star... you fall with purpose..." Obviously it took alpha squad for the protection and created the SL armors for them/us, "Use what is here to prepare for the battle to come." And the layers of the clockworks over the core seemed to be off as the Ironclaw Munitions echo stone states it's own world has become it's prison. We are going to war with the the Swarm.
:o
Also, if the core is a living entity, then the Swarm must be it's opposite. (Swarm = Black, purple, eyes, consumes. Core = white, blue, no visible features, gives off energy(which is why our mist probably regenerates in the first place))
@Snarfalarkus
That definitely makes the most sense.
Now we just have to wait for OOO to implement this!
Euclid: "Wait King Tinky, you sure no one died in this armor before?" (Point at Almirian Crusader Armor.)
King Tinkinzar: "I assure you, all of these gears are designed and engineered for perfection. No Almirian have ever died in this armor. Now put this on."
Euclid: "Alright, if you say so." (Equipped Almirian Crusader set.)
Later in UFSC...
Euclid: "This is the last time I'm going to believe in that old man..."
I'm pretty sure Snarfalarkus never said anything about King Tinkinzar doing anything but going insane....
Did you mean to add this onto your own post?
That is why I also think the Core is trolling us: The rewards of Shadow Lair are less worth it and downright bad the more you go deeper. You are enticed with Snarbolax set, an actual good one, and then later a Demo set that doesn't make your bombs charge faster - and the bonus dmg is low, finishing up with an armor that... gets you burnt much more?!
Remember the ICMF echo stone? Euclid says in the gauntlet module that "..the chaos of the clockworks engulfs me once more" and in the ICMF module, Rulen says "... A world designed to confuse it's travellers. It wants to trap and destroy them." Those two support the ICMF echo stone quite well IMO.
Yes I got it as well.
It's just that the echo stones and back-story seem to back up Snarfalarkus' statement more so.
Hopefully we'll know someday soon!
