I had a fun/unfun experience with 2-bar (sometimes 3-bar) connection from the server. My campus wi-fi is a bit far from the Europe server (about 5800 km / 3600 miles), but it has gotten worse to the point that it's becoming unreliable as my knight's action went out of control -- from cancelled actions to constant, sporadic "rubber band" effects and tripping over invisible stones. I've seen how server-side prediction is a real killer. I would be better off playing another game that more lag-tolerant.
