Remember the times, when there was no PvP and people would be cooperative and battle in the arcade, explore harder, and go to Basil for recipes.
Good times.

I kinda do like Super Brawl(PvP) but I wasn't there at the Super Brawl times. I seen videos of it, though and it was a lot more fun to me back then. It was actually more of a challenge and now that I've become a Vanguard so easily, I feel like I'm doing the same things all over again.
I sort of miss the old days. Biggest reasons were probably the cooperation and how friendly everyone was. And how difficult the game was back then. Either way, I like the changes and I enjoy present SK equally with past SK.
I miss it too. You could get into the arcade and there would always be someone there for you to meet and share experiences, different maps before bosses, recipes at AH had a plausible price, more people at haven... Oh the good ol'days. :/
On a side note, I've been watching some videos from Super Brawl and started wondering... Why the hell it was taken away from the game? It was an actual PvP that looked kinda nice, not some boring minigame that's a pvp wanna-be. They could at least re-implement for people who actually would like to use the clockworks gameplay against other players.
Sadly the game has always been sort of a mess. When the arcade was still active, all people went to do are the gates with bosses in them.
Saying that, I loved going through the arcade when it was the most profitable back in the days. Ever since the mission mode, gates have been useless.
I really hope OOO will decide to balance the reward system eventually. Screw balancing weps or new content for a moment. Let everything have it's merits again.
I miss the old DA charge, the split damage AP, the range of the piercing swords...
...the old slag walkers, the old slag guards, the days when UVs were acquired only from lucky crafting.
the days when UVs were acquired only from lucky crafting.
That, I agree with. As much as I think adding Punch was a good idea, and a great penya sink, I think allowing locked UVs was a stupid call. Financially, I guess it works out for them, but it screws the balance of play when folk can run around with triple-max sets.
Darkbrady - Penya..? Oh my god so many memories of other MMOs just flooded back
I am so old. I am old man milkman. I have grandkids who have grandkids older than you. Come listen to me talk about the old days.
You guys are also forgetting the power surge weekends and the weekly raffles OOO threw out for being active.
I miss when Wolvers tracked, Oilers were like cousins of Nuclear Oilers, flamethrower Gremlins were powered by Dragon Souls, and Menders would smack and zap you.
THOSE were the times.
Good old tracking wolvers, they are the reason why I got a wolver set in the begging. I hated those shield-breaking guys so much that I took their skin and wore as cloth to make them fear me and show who is the boss, now they aren't a worthy rival anymore. :/
Super Brawl will likely remain forever dead along with the tortodrone...
I actually don't miss the tortodrone though. But I could see why others did.

You know it; penya is the only MMO currency I officially recognise! Will never be able to get that out of my head, no matter how many I play~
You don't miss a passive mob who was the best NPC-bro you could ever have? Okay.
I remember the old days... it wasn't as polished, but I preferred them I think! The wacky issues like menders having instantaneous Gremlin Fu made things really fun for me! It was all so varied, I felt challenged as well as enthusiastic because of how some creatures and features didn't fit a perfect, logical, enclosed system. That's one of the things I think nearly all MMOs miss, probably because everyone complains about it as if it's a horrible error. Personally, I find illogical weirdness among the most enticing and exciting parts of games! It feels so much more real, and so much less boring when enemies shamelessly multiclass, when game altering events happen exclusively by luck, when there's no easy way except having a good team and persistence.
TL;DR version, it feels like people refuse to embrace their emotional side-- which is where fun comes from-- in the quest for good logic! I say that's what makes games boring ^^
Lol I remember Haven feeling awesome, cause I joined around Christmas time, and everything was happy. Now its just beggars running everywhere. And its horrible. What I wouldn't give to be able to play SK like it was when I joined...
YEP, I REMEMBER.
Still waiting for PvP winnings be based on individual merit than team merit. You can be an amazing player, but still lose because of your team. I do not like being on a team with players that don't know how to follow simple commands. This often appears to be the case with me.
Frankly, I'm a fan of Super Brawl because I've played it and enjoyed it. How many people can say that they've played Super Brawl and actually enjoyed it? Not many because the Beta of Spiral Knights was invitation only, much like the PSO2 beta was. But how many people watch Magnus' videos and automatically assume that this game mode is terrible because of One Hit Kills (OHKOs) or some other silly factor? A lot of people.
Having played something and saying you don't enjoy it, but please don't observe something and automatically say it is terrible because of what you have SEEN or OBSERVED. It's understandable to say that it doesn't appeal to your tastes, but don't go around saying "This game mode sucks, I've seen it and it looks terrible."
Still waiting for Super Brawl to be included in the list of PvP types.
Since I hate being on teams sometimes, I just play Blast Network but I might play Lockdown a little bit. I'm waiting until I can get my three star set to play Tier 2 Lockdown.
I do miss the times when the other towns were uninstanced so it was like having multiple havens. Also some of the floors that were gardens had basil in them.
There was also a PvP game in closed beta and you could get a little crown.
As nostalgic as it was though I think I like the new Spiral Knights just as much. There are only a few things that were removed (multiple towns and such) so it's not like there is much that's gone.
