You know like "aa, spamer, polariss, hammer user!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Things like that.
You know like "aa, spamer, polariss, hammer user!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Things like that.
Auto target makes no difference, if you die that's your fault. Also, what they mean by spam is that it's overused but that's not what spam means. They saying people are spamming Skolver armour just because they wear it. You can't exactly spam a Polaris because weapons on Spiral Knights have very basic attacks. Bombs have the most standard attacks, guns have the second, and swords have the most unique attacks.
So, that's why I see the spam excuse as an invalid reason to blame someone if you die.
Do what I do and make Shock-spamming set (Chaos, VT, Polaris, Storm, Voltedge). Then casually remark with a simple "umad, bro?"
Those people are simply whining because they got killed in Lockdown. If they're too lazy to change their loadouts or class, then they really shouldn't play. Some people are just too ignorant to realize that Skolver and FF doesn't automatically make you invincible. My strategy for LD is using tons of loadouts and utilizing each class for specific situations. If more people did this then we'd probably see a lot less whining in Lockdown.
But normally I just tell those people "Either change your strategy or quit complaining because you died, your '(insert name of weapon you got killed with here) spammer noob!!1!' argument is invalid. Good day to you sir."
Every person has a weak spot. Just find it :c Otherwise, I just peg them with my valiance and be like "ooooo a gunner with no polaris just killed you. what now >:l"
Agree,i saw way too many players complaining AA and whinning just because they killed by noobie using AA and they considering that's cheating but actually that weren't cheating.Everyone can had their own gaming/attack style in lockdown, none can force them to unused AA except if they really want.
Well,i enter lockdown today and what i saw was.."player A keep using AA and spamming combo" and when the battle end player A got over 15k damage using AA while they player B that complaining got not even more than 1k >.>' and keep saying "you noob, you used AA that's why your damage so high, while i ain't using AA".This were some excuse that player like to used in lockdown when they kill by AA noobie, pulsar spammer and toothpick users.
Some players can be a lot better without Aa while some players require forever AA to be good in lockdown.
And hammer user weren't actually a big deal, just know their weakness ;D.
Well some people do lag, I my self has experience it a hoard of times...you see people flying or walking on the wall or you stuck on the wall likes there is a magnetic field that pulls you to the wall and all that stuff...but yeah some people use it as an excuse
The only excuse I agree with is when AA is used on cloaked recons; it's the only thing that seems truly unfair in LD as it entirely defeats the point of hiding if someone can just not even bother looking and zone in on you, especially from 160 degree backwards angles...mid-combo.
AA the rest of the time though, idc about. Some say it helps, some say it hurts, some say it's cheating, no one can agree. Fact is that "aa, spam, noob, lag" etc are all just short for "I'm a whiney wee lass who needs to throw a tantrum, if you'll excuse me". If you didn't kill them with polaris and instead went in and killed them with a teethpick, I'm sure they'd find another word to throw around to rationalise their death.
Darkbrady pretty much said everything before I could.
Yes, I use AA (you may let out a shocked GASP if you wish) with my Mega Magnus (nice counter-gunner sidearm for a demoman, in my experience- gunners rarely wear Justifier- and works on other bombers, too). If Skolvers are going to use it to hit me when I'm cloaked, I might as well hit them back with it when I don't have time to drop a Nitro or VT. Or when I don't feel like it (usually when they're deathmarked or wearing Vog/Snarby, i might chance a Magnus shot). I also pack a Gigawatt Pulsar for when I'm spotted- I don't often spam it, but the Shock on hit has saved my life (or sealed an enemy's fate) quite a few times. Does that make me a "pulsar noob"?
As far as lag goes, sometimes it does happen. But again, sometimes it's the player being whiny; I usually give them the benefit of the doubt. "Noob", however, has no place in Lockdown- this is not RuneScape, where words that have lost all meaning can be used as insults.
I really oughta upgrade those guns some time... well, rant over! Gotta get to calculus and... rant about that!
First of all, some "excuses" are legitimate at times such as lag or AA in the case mentioned by Darkbrady.
However, as legitimate as these excuses can be, they're obviously used by those of us who just
aren't man enough to say "I suck" or to compliment the other player on a kill.
I really don't want to get into another debate about AA but I'll just quickly say that I have nothing against it.
I personally do not use it, mainly because it throws me off at times, but I have no problem with someone else
using it.
And of course there's the "I only had one bar of health left" excuse that, even though it's a good explanation
as to why you got killed my the "noob" in 3* gear, still brings into light the fact that people just don't like losing
and, in any situation, will come up with some excuse as to why they were defeated.
In short, I basically agree with Darkbrady:)
If they blame shock, spam your Polaris. If they blame AA, spam your toothpick/Gun/Whatever. If the blame lag...
go to their house and do something to their connection. Have a little fun xD
And Doctorspacebar, good luck with that Calculus. If your teacher gives you an F.....blame lag.
-Guardianknight.
If your teacher gives you an F.....blame lag.
That's my next excuse next time I miss an assignment.
"I lagged."
S'funny 'cuz it's true :D
...I thought consensus was that AA didn't track recons.
What I usually see is that us guys who've played LD for ages anticipate where a recon will likely be, then just strike out and hope to get lucky. Or we just go crazy mode and swing everywhere (throw down enough attacks and you'll hopefully hit something). Once hit, the (usually new) recon cries about AA.
In my experience, there's usually a noticeable difference between players who can predict movements and players who have AA. Watching them you can see they were taking logical routes and choices to pre-empt you, and you can usually find yourself goin' "damn, he knew exactly where I was goin'".
But then you get some people who just wave around willy-nilly and then after comboing a teethpick, they swing, jab ahead then BAM 160 degree arc BEHIND them and land the third hit directly on you with not an inch to spare. The clever players who knew you were there (and sometimes there's simply no reason to know where you are if you've been hiding long enough) would just spin around and attack, rather than starting a combo in a different direction.
AA doesn't always work, but sometimes it just clicks on them for whatever reason and you can so clearly see that it was an automated targetting. Maybe AA isn't supposed to work and sometimes it just bugs out and happens, but fact is that it happens often enough that people can just rely on it and get you with basically zero effort or clever thinking.
I don't do anything that people use excuses to justify their deaths for, but normally I would simply respond with ":3"
I play recon exclusively these days, and I've been stabbed out of cloak exactly once (and that time was my fault.)
YESH, that's the solution I have been playing SK for 2 years now and i never use AA but miss it so much because haters just rage all day and it screws with my reputation but now I see that I can bypass by saying ":D" or "derp"
I don't use auto target.
The only excuse that I think is legitimate is lag because everyone deals with it.
I play lockdown, I use AA, I use hammer, I use a polaris and I spam like a fool. People tell me to take it off, but I can do AA because it's not a rule and it's not their rule to create in LD. I don't listen to those jealous mad people
That's not a troll! Three Rings made all of this stuff to help us. People getting mad are like two year olds.
"Autoaim"
The only excuse I agree with is when AA is used on cloaked recons; it's the only thing that seems truly unfair in LD as it entirely defeats the point of hiding if someone can just not even bother looking and zone in on you, especially from 160 degree backwards angles...mid-combo.
Autotarget doesn't lock on THAT drastic of an angle. That's just you being predictable or them predicting you. You can visually detect recons as they move anyway, so don't count on it too much.
And even if it did theoretically work, this runs into my main gripe about AA/AT whiners anyway: With exception to external factors (ex: heavy latency, lag), it's your own fault for getting hit.
If your opponents are good, then you'd get hit if you just waltz into their zone of attack without guarding against at least one option.
Their aim/prediction abilities are usually good enough to hit anyway, so the whole auto-aim-or-not BS is irrelevant.
"Spammer"
Man, I don't even know what's spamming anymore. Some silly person said I was spamming GF once (I realized that that person didn't have enough health to survive two swings, so I did the two-swing business whenever I ambushed him). I promptly mentioned that I was attacking slowly, then switched to guns and showed him what real 'spamming' is like.
Some people use it as a derogatory term, but seriously, if you're using something frequently, you're spamming it. Nothing to do with skill nor lack of skill at all.
"Polaris"
People need to learn how to use other guns and classes to counter polaris >_>
"Hammer"
People need to learn to hit hammer through latency.
Autotarget doesn't lock on THAT drastic of an angle
Aye, it does. The particular example I'm thinkin' of I was just trolling the guy, letting him swing madly around while I ran on and off the CP to decap; he had absolutely no idea where I was then it swung backwards mid-combo and hit me. Whenever I do use swordy, I use AA and I've seen that kind of sudden change in angle as the AA takes over and re-aims your target. I've had some cheap kills that I certainly should not have got because AA swung my target around the last second, exactly like many people do to me while I'm cloaked. It most certainly does affect it at that kind of angle. How are you supposed to get your own hit in w/o walkin' towards them to some degree? By that attitude, recons should never be able to get hits in becasue they always have to get within range. But you can still see a difference in players who are making clever guesses and players who rely on AA. There's no question, you'd have to be blind to not see the difference in styles.
Either that or some players are omniscient; who am I to judge people before I know their full story?
I'd like to be omniscient, that way I can ignore recons, too. Hell, I don't even see the footsteps when I play, I have to use good ole'-fashion panicking when someone cloaks like the game intended. Lucky me.
Also, people will just spout spammer at everything. People have done "pure voltedge/teethpick" runs for mass damage and gone around calling others spammer. I've been called a spammer because I used hazes to protect a CP. Bomb spam. Yup.
Combo spam...
What is this I don't even
Am I not allowed to use the full combo on my ASI Low DA as a Guardian now? The spam whiners have officially lost any chance of ever regaining any credibility ever IMO.
as I play rather decent amounts of lockdown:
AA is fine, it is fine for those with skill who know how to use swords and swing in the direction of the enemy; In my experience, it provides very few bonuses as the enemy has to be within 3 blocks in front of you to activate.
AA does, and I must stress this, however, increase the range of a person's attack.
This is as the range is furthest directly in front of you, and so because it automatically straightens your attack, you get A LOT more range than a person without it.
Despite this, AA is rage inducing if used by a person who repetitively uses the full flourish line combo.
And to those arguing polaris spam is annoying, this is false as the bullets are slow and easy to dodge.
But if it is used by two people at once, it is a nightmare. The only way to counter this would be two or more of your own team using a pulsar XD.
That's all I wanted to say
~ Th-Urret
(P.S If you don't believe my auto target theory, try it out, you will see a consistent difference (as in I consistently get over 11k damage with it and die in seconds without it))
Like all excuses, they don't matter unless they are heard and accepted. The devs refuse to believe that lockdown is broken, or at least refuse to fix it if so. Thus, the "whiners" are in fact "whiners".
I don't like polaris. It's stupid easy to dodge, but you still have to dodge it, which I do not find enjoyable. And if both teams spam polaris, it is very easy to lose track of which shots are whose.
I don't like auto-aim. AA directed attacks are predictable and boring. I would much rather play against a real person.
I don't like the hammer. It is almost exclusively used with AA, and with the movement on the second attack, this means the computer controls the player's movements and attacks much of the time during combat...very boring.
Having a bad connection sucks. Having a slow computer also sucks. But no one wants to hear about it.
If you get stomped with no UV's you'll still get stomped with them. They're much less important than people make them out to be.
They are such [red darts] just because it's a virtual match with weapons made outta pixels. Don't like it when your defeated from AA? Improve your skills from AA hammer. Still bad? Ok, then quit whining and complaining like a mother [brother] so you can eventually defeat someone with AA.
This is a message to AA whiners and complainers.
I can kill you all easly, I can double your score, and STILL I'll call you a piece of crap noob AA user.
I'll be back someday just to kill noobs like you, and laugh in the arena like i used to do it.
Best Regards
Feller.
^and that, my fellow forumites, is either a prime specimen of a silly troll or an example of how virtual PvP and anonymity bring out the worst in people.
@Draycos
It's the real Feller, but somewhat he's just... meh. What luck.
I don't know if I ever seen a champion that is peacefully peaceful against humanity.
Actual or not, I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt that it could be trolling more than poorly placed pride...
Someday i'll reborn from ashes only to kill you dozens times and say "learn how to play AA noob"
In the mean time I'm killing brazilian people in Gotham City Impostors.
What kills you will probably kill others if used by you, so stick with being an AA spammer, polaris, hammer user until you find someone who can whoop your arse even if you got that, at that point learn how to play from said guy.
