**Before people get into my ideas I would like to give a little background information on myself**
-=-
I am a gamer no different from the rest of you. I only recently came to Spiral Knights on a recommendation from a friend. So far I love the game and I think it is golden except possibly an auction house is needed (I heard they were working on one?). I have a lot of experience with games that I would put in the same category as Spiral Knights such as Ragnarok Online or Runescape (Yes, Runescape is a lot more similar than you think). In these games I loved to adventure and try to solo dungeons and quests. However above all those, I loved to PvP. It wasn't as much for the thrill as it was something to do when I got bored. After I would finish a long tedious quest I would relax by dueling others for a while. When I came to Spiral Knights all I could think of was how much more awesome the game would be if I was able to battle against other players to show off my hard earned gear and playstyle. I believe that implementing a PvP system into this game would not ruin it and would only further its popularity. This is my idea on how to do that. My ingame name is Xinkk.

-=-Reasoning-=-
One thing I look for when I am game hopping is PvP. As good as a game like Spiral Knights is, sometimes you just want to battle against your friends for bragging rights if nothing else. While Dungeoning and Trading are very important parts of a game, Player versus Player is also just as important. I understand that Spiral Knights is nowhere near complete yet and probably still needs a few years to fully bloom. This only furthers the reasoning for why PvP should be implemented as soon as possible.
-=-Implementation-=-
For this game I believe a matchmaking type duel system would be best. For now the game should have 1v1 duels and 2v2 battles. Your Haven channel will not matter and the system will group together players from all Havens. I suppose the easiest way to do this would be to add a new tower to the arcade. However it would be a lot more awesome if the arena had its own zone to the right of the Town Square. There should be an option of whether you want to battle for fun or for winnings. If the choice of for fun is chosen then all participating players should be in the party. If there are four people in the party then the 2v2 option will be chosen and the party leader will be allowed to decide who is on their team. They then will be battling against the other two members of the party. In a for fun 2v2 or 1v1 battle the tiers of each of the member's individual pieces of gear are averaged out and players are buffed or nerfed respectively. This puts everyone at the same level (except for weapon charges and resistances) while also preventing people from wearing a zero or one star armor piece to pretend to be worse than they are.
-=-Playing for winnings-=-
If the option of playing for winnings is chosen then it will cost 2 energy to enter. This is for both 1v1 and 2v2. Player(s) have to be wearing all the same star gear. This means if you are playing in a 2v2, you and your partner both have to be wearing 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 star gear. This ensures that all players have a fair chance in the ring. You will then be matched with a person(s) of your same star level. You cannot purposely play against someone in a winnings match. You can only do that by being in a group with them and on the same channel for a for fun match.
-=-Rewards-=-
PvPing for fun will have no rewards and the winner of PvPing for winnings will be given 2% of whatever the market price is for 100 energy at the time. If someone wins a 2v2 then they will be given 4% of the market price for 100 energy. This makes 2v2 battles more sought after but it will never stop people from battling each other 1v1.
-=-Possible New Area-=-
If the adding a new area idea catches on then it would be neat to have little towers in the area showcasing a picture and name of the top three players for the week in each star category. This would have nothing to do with that person's wins to losses ratio and only their number of wins.
-=-Things to Avoid-=-
-Avoid betting systems at all costs.
These systems reinforce bad habits and with the extremely cheap cost of energy in this game this will go sour really quick.
-More things to avoid to come

PvP existed in the Preview Event as a test for what people liked. It was, however, far from complete. It has been stated that it will make a comeback once it's good and ready for prime time.
