I just got a new computer which has windows 8 installed in it, I downloaded latest Java, and the game pops up and closes, Someone help!

Have you tried running it

Have you tried running it from the command line? What are the contents of projectx.log?

Have you made sure

Have you made sure proper/updated drivers are installed? Even though the computer is new it might be running on a Windows default driver. The default driver isn't able to run Spiral Knights.
