Anyone have a good way to kill them? They're so annoying that even the annoying orange would feel jealous of them.
Greavers and Devilites
Have a read through this thread for a number of different tactics for dealing with Greavers with all sorts of weapons.
Note that any comments in this thread regarding RSS are now invalid, as this thread is quite old and the bomb has since been changed~
Thanks for your information. I will make sure to use them
i saw the thread and its really good. most of the time when im fighting devilites i use the old tactic everyone know. a piercing weapon attack then shield up while you get away with the shield just be sure to look at your shield damage.
for greavers well before i used BTB to deal with thems but i found more useful Dread venom striker for them because 1 hit and they dont attack so if i get surrounded by 4 i can hit them in time before they can hit me. but well most of the suggestion in drak brady thread its the best way to take those down. the DVS tactic i would say only when you have a good experience in game because could be quite risky if you dont have good experience.
Dark, the thread is sadly a bit outdated. RSS was changed.
It's probably not too bad an idea for a demoman to use the Sun Shards line on Greavers since the Stun fix. This will slow them down, but the area's pretty small, so watch out. I heard somewhere Sun Shards are still good for Devilites as well; the DBB is great for them, too. Dance around them and drop a DBB after they throw (and after you've safely dodged).
Believe it or not, Dark Retribution works against Greavers. If you've got it, you can overlap the bomb radii and just run around in them; the Greavers will die slowly, but they'll die and they'll be interrupted the whole time by the constant damage. This isn't easy to use when there are Devilites chuckin' stuff at you at the same time, though; watch out for them. Also, some Undead (Spookats especially) will screw this strategy up.

Aye, I'm aware about RSS but I figure most of the other tactics are still valid and there was a good page or so of discussion on the matter for some light reading on the subject.
Next time, though, I'll make a point to mention that any comments regarding RSS are outdated.
Using the first swing of rocket hammer also works well (that was introduced after that thread was created, I believe). Same idea as the flourish suggestions in that thread, walk backwards and swing
Yes, these are pretty much the hardest monsters in the game. Do yourself a favor and get a piercing sword. Use the first stroke, and then shield-cancel, and repeat. The first swing is fast and wide, and will interrupt these monsters nicely.
For greavers: Enter the room, aggro them, and retreat into the hallway (if possible) so that they are all attacking from one direction. Then do your first-strokes-of-piercing-sword until they die.
For devilites: These are often in wide-open spaces, and they have ranged attacks. Try to aggro them one at a time. As you approach one, dodge side-to-side to avoid its projectiles. When you reach it, do your first-strokes-of-piercing-sword until it dies. Also, when you enter the room drop a haze bomb such as Shivermist Buster, Voltaic Tempest, or Stagger Storm.
