Now I don't know if this has been suggested before. If it has, well too bad. In Lockdown, for some obscure reason, you can not wear costumes. The weird thing is, the little icons on the left that show your character's head still shows your costume head. Maybe this is a personal problem for me or not, but I just wish we could keep our costumes in LD.
Feel free to throw this idea on the ground, then stomp on it or plus 1 it.
Slight LD change
There's been discussions on this plenty of times before, inc. fairly recently where Dragneel has been tryin' to come up w/ a way to imiprovise. Fact is that costumes are turned off in LD for a reason, and right now that reason heavily trumps any vanity wants.
@Dmatter
Erm, if you had Skolver, you would be playing tier 3 LD.
It would kinda be obvious that you're not a Tier 1 player if you are playing in Tier 3.
@Darkbrady
Could you please list some reasons why it is turned off?
Dmatters point was that you wouldn't know what they were wearing; are they a swordy or gunner? Bomber perhaps? A hybrid? Or are they tryin' to waste your time? Or are they genuinely in their T1 loadout? You've no idea.
The game is meant to be fair, so seeing what people are using is considered an essential part of that. The game is about special types of damage and defences, encouraging mixed loadouts and using what you need when you see an opportunity. See a Skolver comin' at you, whip out your GF. See a Shadowsun, use a teethpick. Introduce costumes to it and this all becomes guesswork, defeating the point as well as creating a crippling disadvantage for many people.
Also, Haze bombers rely on dropping the correct bombs. UVs throw some guesswork into this a bit but in general you don't drop a Shiver if there are a lot of Skolvers around. Costumes come in and you have no idea what to use when.
Sayin' that, there's nothin' wrong with making your own LD costumes if you can afford accs.
"It would kinda be obvious that you're not a Tier 1 player if you are playing in Tier 3."
Not so. Add so much as a 5* shield to that 1* loadout, BLAM. T3 screwage.
Also it's for tactical reasons, so people don't fool others into believing they are geared as something they are not. It adds to balance, otherwise you would be hacking at a guy will full elemental defense with a DA, while the opponent is hacking away at your piercing defense with a GF.
hacking away at [you] .... with a GF.
That's an image to consider...

I got a little lost there.
Maybe then limit the costume to oneself?
Hm...
I don't see a problem with allowing you to see your own costume (client-side) while everyone else sees your armour....but that seems to kinda defeat the point of a costume really, I'd have thunk~
It's kinda a personal problem for me so its fine for me.
Thanks for the feedback!
if you could put on costumes, you could have proto stuff on as a costume when you have skolver luring people to you.
