I remember waybackwhen I kicked up a minor fuss on the forums about how the Ascended Calibur and the Tempered Calibur looked EXACTLY the same.

At first, some people doubted it, saying the the Ascended was a little shinier and whatnot.

About 6 months later, I confirmed that I was right. There was no model along the Calibur line for something between Ascended and Calibur. I looked on Spiralspy.

Now, looking at the Tempered Honour Blade and the Ascended Honour Blade, there is an obvious difference. The Ascended is both bigget and shinier than it's predecessor, and if I'm not mistaken by my bucket graphics, has a brighter gold glow.

Now my question is this: Can anyone confirm that the normal Tempered and Ascended Caliburs are any different in terms of physical appearance?

I assume that because the reskins are the same, their normal counterparts would have been stealth-patched to share some of the differences.

Unless I missed that update back when I was absent or missed the memo.

I was on the wiki today, looking at the Calibur line cause of the honor stuff, and I kept alternating between the tempered and ascended calibur pages using alt-left/right so I could properly compare the pictures. I can honestly say there is a difference. Ascended calibur has a bigger hilt, the blade is longer and thiner but actually a bit less shiny. Hilt is less shiny too, compared to Tempered calibur.

The Calibur line uses the same model until it hits the Leviathan why the Ascended calibur looks bigger because it is re-sized and because of that the texture is slightly stretched causing the slightest loss of texture quality.

The Ascended has a different symbol just above the hilt.

Upgrading My Loots

So I've gotten the Tempered Honor Blade because of my rank. Will I be able to upgrade it to the final tier? If not, if I rank up before the twentieth will it upgrade?

No, and no. It doesn't upgrade. I posted a few suggestions about it in my thread, but I doubt anything will be done. Best learn to love my Inferior Blingstick.

Did you know all antiguas and upgrades use only one model? It's all about texture tricks, particle effects and resizes.

all honesty

In all honesty there is NO MAJOR FRICKEN DIFFERENCE!!!!!! while the ceremonial assortment is nicely ranged with a larger and wider blade the calibur line is strait up cloned! Thats right cloned. with hardly any difference in them what so ever. So why defend something that has hardly no support while the other clearly has enough support to do so.
