I'm new, only started playing recently, and this post isn't meant for bashing the game at all because I really do like it, but I do have a few questions for the veterans out there who have been playing this game for awhile.

1) Between now and when SK was released, did many content updates ( new features, expansion on end game ) happen? I looked through the announcement section and didn't find too much..

2) What exactly IS end game? I mean, from what I've asked in zone chat people keep telling me you can just up right buy the recipe for the best weapons and armor in the game from the AH and make them so.. what's the point of grinding?

3) Is the future of SK looking good? Are the developers keeping up with it? I see this guild hall update just came to pass, that seemed like a good thing but I dunno if this kind of update is a common thing or not.

I wasn't too sure if I shoulda posted this in general or the newbie forums or not so I just went ahead and did it here, sorry if I pissed anyone off with that.

Thanks!

1) Not sure, I don't exactly count them...

2) Endgame as far as I know is getting a gear set you're satisfied with (typically 5*) and having reached the Core. That's technical endgame, anyway. It differs depending on what you want to get out of the game.

3) I would guess so, updates like this one don't happen every week, but it's not doing so bad. If you like it, stick with it. I doubt SK is going to crash and burn too soon.

Final point: Probably, but I doubt we're going to hate on your for it.

I just returned from about a year and a half hiatus and there has been a fair amount of content in that time that I'm excited to clear through!

When I played the only bosses were: Jelly King and Vanaduke, I think theres at least 3 more?

As well, there were no Missions, only arcade, no PVP, and no shadow lairs. In terms of pure gameplay content these would probably be the big ones for me.

EDIT: other content updates: auction house, accessories, guild hall, unique variant system (was only limited to 1 before and there was no variant forge), a fair amount of weapons/armor (I think there were no 5* brandishes and no flourishes?, and unfamiliar with the other weapons)

So I'm fairly impressed upon return, I'm not sure how often they do content updates but hopefully there is much, much more to come

1) read Kyajin's post (he has been playing before me so his post will answer that question better then i can)

2) for some it's defeating vanaduke, for others clearing the shadow lairs. i'm just having fun with the game grinding for god knows what but hey i'm still having fun (unlike with diablo III wich felt more like work then actualy playing a game) but yeah you can buy your way to the top but believe me it's far more rewarding when you earned everything just with hard work (and except for a few elevator passes i'm a F2P with a good ammount of gear)

3) well they just released the guildhall update wich for me is enough proof they are doing their best to keep this game fun :D (think a lot of ideas came from the comunity) they released a DLC not to long ago (ok would be nice if it wasn't a DLC but a content expension because now most F2P can't play it)

Updates

I've been around since the launch, so I'll speak just to what's been added.

Since launch, we've gotten: Snarbolax (Tier-1 boss), Roarmulus Twins (Tier-2 boss), the PvP games Blast Network and Lockdown, the Candlestick Hall levels, the entire mission system most of which repackages old content, but also, the danger missions which are essentially new content, the Shadow Lairs which I haven't been to but seem to essentially repackage old content but add new rewards.

For gear, we've gotten ... a lot. The flourish swords, the entire lines of catalyzer/pulsar/capacitor/thorn shield/snarble blade, all the shadow lair reward gear.

Plus shinies - costume gear, monster pockets and in fact the entire accessory system and all the accessories.

And Operation Crimson Hammer, although that's sold separately, but it's there, along with its reward items.

Purchasable items like the elevator pass and the heat amplifier.

That's all off the top of my head, but if I went through the wiki I'm sure I could find more.

1) I've been playing a little over a year, and just came back about 2 months ago. There a quite a few new features since then. For example, the missions that were added haven't even been in Spiral Knights for a year. Some other examples for larger content updates are the customizable guild halls and the shadow lairs.

2) Well, this always depends. For most people it's getting full 5* gear. For some people it's beating all of the shadow lairs and getting to the highest prestige possible.

3) The future of Spiral Knights is looking really good in my opinion. The developers can add tons of content about the clockworks and the gremlins.
The guild hall update is definitely not a common thing. We've been waiting for it for quite some time now.

Hope you like the replies you get! If you have any other questions, ask me. You can reply to this message or message me in game. My username in game is Friedrich.
