Well, considering I get kicked out of my party as soon as I join a friend's run, is there any way to solo Vanaduke with *1-*4 weaponry?

Also, note that my behind got whooped plenty of times in the previous floors, so is there guarantee a way to dodge Vana's attacks?

Never

With a storage of 2000 energy :P

Impossible, I figured you need good damage, but the more is ninja dodging skills! :3
I've seen a lot of people, they put on pepperbox or blitz needle, wield trueshot modules and barbarous thorn shield. What a damage boost!

I'd say use your Calibur on him, not Nightblade. Try to spam the charge attack, and don't get hit.

But you have very little chance of finishing the battle. Your Twisted Targe won't take even ONE hit from his mace, and you have no fire resist.

Of course, if you would unload $59.99 of energy for the battle I'm sure you could eventually.

Processing Thoughts of You Always

Pay someone to drag your corpse through it.
Simples.
Also, your weaponry and equipment sucks, to be frank. I would advise you get 4* all-round at least, with some fire resistance. Your Silent Nightblade doesn't count, the most common enemies resist shadow damage and Vanaduke is completely immune to shadow damage in his final stage, so you'd be using half a weapon against him. The bad half.
Get an upgrade for your Calibur at the very least. I'd say something about Blitz Needle and elemental-damage weapons, but it's half an hour to midnight and bluh bluh reading about Cthulhu Mythos at this time really not great for brain.

Soloing Vanaduke with a Strike Needle is well within the realm of possibility. Soloing him with your set is probably not so realistic. If you want to really get into farming FSC, invest in an elemental sword and a Blitz/Shiv (Blitz if you plan on constantly soloing the boss). If you are not very confident in your ability to dodge the attacks of slags and Vana himself, I'd suggest you upgrade your duskier to Vog eventually; although once you get good, armor doesn't make too much of a difference.

Vana's attacks are pretty easy to dodge. The mace swing has a fairly long windup and he doesn't turn once he's started the attack. There is no guaranteed way to avoid his attacks (it would be pretty stupid if there was), but in stages 1 and 3, you can hide behind the two pillars in the upper corners, and if you get it right, he won't be able to hit you with his mace.

@Sdkfzafk, You don't need those things to solo Vanaduke, it's easily doable with just a fully heated blitz. IMO, CTR is also more important than damage bonus. The BTS doesn't affect the Blitz Needle. It only grants a sword damage bonus. They most likely had it equipped for the previous levels.

The node 58425 is about the petition they are trying to petitate regarding the shard bombs that were underpowered after renewal of radiant sun shards/rock salt bomb etc.

If ye're interested, take a look over there by typing forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/58425.

-----------

About this thread, soloing with 3*~4* equipments is impossible.

Most of the thread if ye really wish to solo, at least bring Strike Needle and/or a Stone Tortoise Shield(defends one smash of mace).

I once tried vana

In a wolver set and a shockburst brandish. I was so excited whenever I would kill a slag =D Killed a total of 10 slags =D

But I died like 20 times....... and only passed blackstone bridge. I hate shadow fire now..... So friggin much.

So back anyways I learnt a lesson in Vana and that is bring freakin! FIRE RESIST STUFF!!!!!

@Thunderbog, Soloing vana with 3*-4* equipment isn't impossible, just with the OP's equipment it is (practically).

@Hawxindanite, Shadow fire doesn't hurt you until you walk into it.

Question

Why is blitz needle recommended against Vana? Isn't it elemental damage that does extra damage?

no it's piercing. Elemental works ok but blitz will take him down faster.

Hey

Don't hate on him, just give him some suggestions...

I've soloed everything vanaduke 24-28 in dusker armor and twisted targe no uvs
I had an ascended calibur and a gigawatt pulsar

I've done this run many times, always dying max 5 times...
Always in dusker armor, with twisted targe, no uvs on anything
Variations in weapons along with results:

Silent nightblade and blackhawk (just for fun :3): 5 deaths, got vanaduke to stage 5, then couldn't do anything :3 cuz he's immune to shadow in stage 5

Avenger and gigawatt pulsar: 1 deaths, finished vanaduke

Ascended calibur and heavy deconstructor: 2 deaths, finished vanaduke

Grand flourish and silversix: 0 deaths! Finished vanaduke

Freezing atomizer and strike needle: 3 deaths, finished vanaduke

Vile striker and winmillion: 4 deaths, finished vanaduke

So don't ever diss 3star armor and 4star weapons

@vinnyduke it's all possible, just train ur skills :3

My biggest suggestion is to

My biggest suggestion is to just don't

I can make about 7k crowns with ~70 mist on a tier 2 arcade run, plus maybe a good recipe or two for resale. FSC run is 40 energy if you don't fight Vana, and if you die twice that bumps up to 70. Dying any more than that is just unprofitable.

... Terrible advice
I can make 10kcr in a typical vanaduke run without doing vanaduke himself...
