I was sitting in church and thought that we haven’t done one of these in awhile, so here we go. Feel free to add to or amend any of these. Please don’t take it too seriously though. I tried to make it 5 “shalts” and 5 “shalt nots”. These are not necessarily in the most important order.
1. Thou shalt not beg for crowns, energy or anything else. It’s annoying and it denies yourself the pleasure of achievement around which so much of this game is built.
2. Thou shalt be a Good Samaritan in your guild and party. One does not simply “pass by on the other side” when a player is down or when a guildmate is in need of assistance.
3. Thou shalt not abuse your powers as party leader by power-trippingly removing players from your party except for excessive AFK . It’s quite disrespectful and can really hurt another player’s feelings.
4. Thou shalt be sociable in haven by exchanging pleasantries with other players. Although there may be some players that improve the game by their silence and thus end up on your ignore list, try to enjoy the social aspect of this game.
5. Thou shalt not send friend or trade requests or party invites without using your words first. Use a private tell to ask if they are interested first.
6. Thou shalt show proper sportsmanship and respect in Lockdown. This will help not to make the environment anymore toxic than it already is.
7. Thou shalt not troll the forums by making multiple inane threads or sidetracking other threads. We are not amused, even a little, and you only do harm to your own reputation.
8. Thou shalt be kind and helpful to new players. Remember your roots and how much you appreciated a helping hand early on.
9. Thou shalt not let thy mist go to waste. Be active as much as possible to advance in the game and improve the community.
10. Thou shalt show respect and appreciation for the Spiral Knights staff for this wonderful game they have been creating and maintaining. You may not always agree with what they do or like how long it takes them do it, but you wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them.
Lets see... on about a weekly basis I break:
2, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10.
...And if I play lockdown that week, I usually break 6 too, just for good measure.
