I wish the guns showed range as a stat so I knew what their ranges were. I want to get a long range gun and I don't want to buy random guns to see what they do. So I'm asking if anyone knows what the longest ranged gun is. I saw a needler in action and it had a pretty long range. But it's one of those burst guns that don't let you move. So I'm wondering what other long range guns there are.
Question - what gun has the best range?
Hmmm..... I think aside from magnus line the other guns have the same range.
Unless you count the charge shot of the auto line.
From playing both a blaster and alchemer I think I can safely say that the blaster has a slightly longer range than alchemer. I had an easier time with gun puppies when I used a blaster as opposed to an alchemer.
I still think the new machine guns are nice. I always use them. Though for the moment they've been slightly nerfed (The damage has been increased but the accuracy is horrible now and will shoot in weird directions ._.) It even outranges gun puppies if you feel like those are too annoying.
In order of range I think it goes like this:
- Vials/Other throwables
- Magnus (Charged)
- Autogun/Strike Needler
Which has a longer root time (can't move), Autogun or Needler?
I think they're both the same, but if you get Quick Draw Modules that might reduce it.
I agree that this is important, but hard to compare, information. Could someone find a good metric for range, and display it on the wiki? For example, you could stand in the party lobby facing north, and post a screenshot of where the bullet ended up. (charged and uncharged alike()
The party lobby would be a standardized ruler than people could go to for comparison; we've been using it to document bomb blast radii.
After a little it of testing regarding the Autogun and Needle Gun I noticed this:
- The Autogun knocks back on every hit, with it's charge actually pushing monsters away beyond it's range
- That the Needle Gun's bullets randomly shoot in different directions
- That the Needle Gun's range is only a little bit longer than the Autogun's (at least from what I can tell)
- Firing time for the Needler seemed a little faster than the Autogun, but it could just be the sounds
It's down to preference on this one. I liked the Autogun more just because I could keep pushing monsters around with it wherever I want.
And there's a version of it that shoots out fire bullets and looks like it's made of lava somewhere out there.
Not sure if the Pepperbox or Strike Needler are any different from the lower ranked counterparts, but those are my observations on the two guns.
alchemers have the longest range I think?
