Styrka here again!
So, while I looked around in the forums for another Gomber page, I couldn't seem to find one, so I'd love to make one!
That being said, I am in no way shape or form an expert on the game only except I know how to abuse vortex bombs with guns. However, testing all the guns out that I'd like to use would be very, very costly, so I'd instead rather like to ask you guys! Eventually I'm sure I'll get hands on experience, but until then...
So, the sets I've tested so far are:
A - Electron Vortex + Pepperbox
B - Alchemers (Fire and Prism) + Graviton Vortex
C - Shadow alchemer + Electron Vortex
D - Electron/Graviton + Magnus
So these are the sets I've tested so far, although as to which my favorite is/which I should upgrade all the way to five star first, I cannot say.
A: Pluses: Allows for double status, which is nice. The electron vortex of course hits undeads and materials for high damage and the pepperbox works on everything, the combination of nuetral damage and element coupling quite nicely to shock, burn or just blast everything away.
Minuses: This set is heavily dependent upon your ability to not get hit when you are unloading the pepperbox as you cannot move. I cannot tell you how many times this has gotten me killed! Basically, the pepperbox is only going to be used when you have a group roudned up in your vortex or are all spasming from the shock.
B: Pluses: A goody, to be sure! The elemental hand guns hit all turrets for either super effective or nuetral damage, which is a must for some. I do not recomend using the Cryotech alchemer for the sole reason that it doesn't work so well in the vortex (As the vortex breaks the ice) whereas your fire will continue unhampered in the vortex and yours prism shots will bounce around for more damage than the other alchemers.
Minuses: You don't get the double status in this one and, since you don't have any nuetral damage, you'll find yourself needing to chain vortex some monsters (Beasts/gremlins) to do any respectable damage to them, which can be difficult!
C: Overview: The same as B, but with shadow gun and shock/element damage from your bomb.
D: Pluses: A sort of hybird between A and B/C, but with piercing damage from the magnus and element/shadow from the vortex of your choice. The magnus knocks down a fair deal of monsters with reliability, and you can basically round up a group of monsters and then pick off whichever ones are not trapped with ease!
Minuses: The magnus does NOT work well against turrets. Gun puppies resist it, as do the jelly turrets (I've no idea what they're called.) Additionally, you cannot move while shooting the magnus, which, once again, can be a death sentence.
That's a gortex. You only focus on one type of bomb. xD
